Cotto may still fight Dela Hoya which what made Floyd more popular and he will do it with Arum as his manager , other thewn that Floyd was doing reality shows, which is dumb and I dont wanna see Cotto on American Idol..get it through your thick head..
Get it through your empty head.

He meant a star for his boxing.

He means that Cotto can only achieve what Arum he wants him to achieve, and that Arum will always shuffle the deck and make choices to benefit him not his fighter.

But that won't change soon, because Cotto doesn't want the autonomy.

He still represented a significant threat @ light-middle, especially to a natural junior-welter.

That version of Oscar @ light-middle is a more dangerous fight than that version of Mosley @ welter.
Mosley holds 2 victories over Oscar... At 147 and at 154.

No he means making a rap almun and being a ceo like Floyd said Cotto should do. Or maybe I LOVE NEW YORK or something...

        Floyd has you brain washed...

And how many of those were good decisions?

I'm pretty sure that almost everyone thought the bout at 154 should gone to De La Hoya.

Agreed. The 154 bout was questionable to say the least I just ****ing hate these excuses and justifications of Cotto-Mayweather never taking place. Fact is Cotto beat the guy who Mayweather beat. IMO Mosley had more left for the Cotto fight than Oscar did for the Mayweather fight. IMO Mosley still has more left than Oscar does at this stage in their careers. That's all I'm saying I'm not gonna argue anymore because all the points have been argued over what, how and why this fight never took place and I know Mayweather didn't and doesn't want the fight and Cotto did and if Cotto had a magic wand right now he'd make the fight happen immediately.

Even so, I have to say, Mosley's resume sucks... pretty badly.

He didn't have any really great opponents at 135.
He beat Oscar at 147, and then got wiped out by Forrest, and then lost a rematch.
He should have lost to Oscar at 154, and then got wiped out by Wright, losing a rematch again.
Then he beat a shot Vargas twice (one was close).
Good win over Collazo at 147, but Collazo will likely never be more than just a contender/paper champion at 147.

To be honest, I think Mosley's resume is one of the most overrated in the sport because of the first Oscar win.

That said, I think Cotto has done more than enough to separate himself from the rest of the sport in regard to the most qualified and deserving Mayweather opponent.

Like it. Don't like it. Don't mean a thing.

Oscar wasn't the completely deteriorated, shot, washed-up stumblebum all these revisionists like to make out to suit their agendas.
                Nowhere near.

And that's not even mentioning that De La Hoya was the fight that Floyd had been chasing for years.

People act like it wasn't his stated aim to get that fight and the kind of payday and recognition that came with it.
People act like he fought Oscar as some kind of easy option to avoid someone else, when he'd actually spoken of his desire to share a ring with De La Hoya literally years before.

Beating the face of the sport to become the face of the sport was always Floyd's objective.
                And he achieved it.

But no doubt the goalposts will be moved for Cotto if he gets past Margarito and then beats Oscar @ a weight that an even more deteriorated, shot, washed-up Oscar now has to boil down to.
That will be classed a great win for Miguel I'm sure.

If that happened, Cotto would only be emulating his hero Floyd Mayweather Jr.
We all know he's a fan of Floyd.

Mosley won that fight D... seriously. Watch it with the sound off. His punches were cleaner and much harder then Dela's and even had Dela in danger late with Body shots....

I THOUGHT Dela won that as well, I watch it with the sound down the following week and with out hearing Lampley and Merchant getting all excited at Dela's fluries , not too mention the crowd.. there was a big difference.
