Even Floyd fans know the Gatti fight was a joke. Judah is past his prime and has been crazy since the Tzu loss, and Oscar while a great fighter is past his prime. Not Floyds fault but he took the fights. Also while not really relevant at this point Corrales was not on point that night vs Mayweather. This is coming from reality not hate, I dont hate or love fighters. I just watch them and want to see good competative match ups.
floyd mayweather is a true champion

All you just did was make up excuses. Gatti has 40 victories & is a 2 division champion so if you feel a fight with him is a joke speak for yourself. Judah is 1 year younger than Floyd but you make up some excuse about him not being in his prime when they fought. BTW the Tzsyu that you are talking about was KOd by Hatton who Floyd beat.
And I dont care if you think Diego was having a bad night the REALITY is Floyd & Diego fought & Floyd won.Comment

Ehm...
When was he supposed to fight Morales exactly? You do know Morales moved to 130, when Mayweather was fighting at 140, right?
When was he supposed to fight Zoo? After he lost to Hatton, while he was injured, or while he was rematching Mitchell?
He could have fought Mosley, but it would have been much easier Mosley agreed to fight him when he was being called out (for years). Maybe you should ask Mosley's dentist what happened to that.
How many times did you see Casa on HBO, or Floyd on Showtime? That's right, ZERO
Let's see what happens with Cotto and Williams. My guess is Mayweather-Cotto in early '09, and Williams moves up to 154 in the meantime.Comment

you DO realize that there was another thread EXACTLY like this one saying he isn't a true champion, right? if you gonna kiss his ass at least be original..
I cheered so loud for Floyd against Hatton I lost my voice, I put that on EVERYTHING I love accept I ain't no fan, as much as I cheered it was due to the fact that I believed he will win and I aim passionate about this sport and a fighter I TRULY like and respect has beaten another opponent in a VERY exciting way, but not for 1 second will you see me tighten his jock strap for him, I like and respect his ability and skills, the fact that threw all his trials and tribulations the man is still undefeated and has overcome any odds placed against him is great but I am a fan of Boxing, which I once again repeat to you, and Boxing is a sport where the best are SUPPOSED to fight the best. Ricky Hatton was the best at 140 and Floyd was the best at 147 so he gets a VERY well earned pass for that, even against Oscar the first time, who am I to disagree on a fighter chasing legacy by facing such a highly known name with a little pop still left in him? I have love for the fighters I just ain't no fan, I WANT him to be successful and make the most he can and he very much did.
he beats Oscar then goes and beats Hatton over the course of a year and change meanwhile he holds belts in a division where he hasn't defended his titles against the real contenders. kick all that "Hatton was a manditory" bull**** you want but you'll be lying to yourself, how the **** can a champion at 140 be a manditory at 147 when you got guys like Miguel Cotto and Paul Williams in the mix who are current champions in the ranks? cut the horse **** and face facts, Hatton was no manditory he was just a VERY difficult foe and I commend Floyd for defeating him but then afterwards the man says he will take 2 years off.. GRANTED, much respect for that too.. but then out of the blue he decides to defend against Oscar De La Hoya again. now I am for making the most money possible, taking the best who offers the most but then I am a fan of Boxing too, cashing in on De La Hoya is cool when you don't already have him in your resume, sure it will sell but this is Boxing and FINE, go ahead Floyd do your thing, go fight Roy Jones at 154, go fight Trinidad at a catch weight, **** you can even take on Winky and play with him too, better yet go beat the **** out of Manny Pacquiao but don't sit there and claim titles that you aren't defending against ready and worthy fighters in YOUR division. let the ****ing belts go and your pound for pound status too don't patronize us fighting fights that clearly don't uphold your status as the pound for pound #1 fighter in the world.
Skill wise Floyd is the best of this era, if pound for pound was about skill he would be the best until HE decided otherwise, he's even better than Roy Jones Jr in skillful Boxing, speed saved Roy in MANY fights but Floyd? it was ALL skills as it is now, he used the speed he was blessed with to better display his skills, overall you cannot say Roy Jones Jr had more skills than Floyd, Speed, Power and Size? yes, Skills? no. see Roy was quick and he knew how to punch but he couldn't shake off punches like Floyd can so brilliantly, he could move but push come to shove once it was time for him to get hit back he couldn't do what Floyd can and I respect Roy Jones Jr..
that being said there is NO hate, only truth. for you to say that Floyd Mayweather Jr has fought the best at every division is an insult to not only MY intelligence but to YOURS as well. Carlos Baldomir was the best? he was a title holder yes but was he the best? was Zab Judah the best? VERY respectable opponents, EVERYONE here KNOWS how I vouch for Zab, but the best? his ability was up to par but everything else wasn't, so much that it ****ed up his ability, and you call him the best? Floyd beat those 2 guys and has since didn't face a legit Welterweight, and he has faced the best in 5 divisions? he can beat the **** out of Cotto, knock him out in the 3rd round, WHICH if he wanted to HE CAN, not that I would pick him but I know his capability, he could beat the ****ing **** out of him, beat him so bad that it's ME who goes to the hospital but he HAS TO DO IT! we know he can but until he does it all you doing is discrediting your credibility on this site for claiming he fought the best, no one is saying he can't but if you claiming you the best then beat the best!
**YES, I know I just wrote a book, read it if you want and suck a **** if you don't**Comment

how can floyd fight the best when he's the best? the problem with these haters is that they can't accept the fact that floyd is invincible. as long as he's fighting guys with his size and guys that are a bit bigger than him, he's not gonna lose and that's the bottom line.Comment

yea but he ain't the only BEST.. Boxing is a sport based on ranks son, you have number 1, number 2, number 3 and beyond counting down the challenges that await number 1, in order for #1 to stay number 1 he has to face the best, why do you think Carlos Baldomir allowed Floyd Mayweather a shot at the title? because his current title placement bestowed a responsibility upon him to defend and conquer every other opponent in HIS division.. not 154.. not 140.. but 147.how can floyd fight the best when he's the best? the problem with these haters is that they can't accept the fact that floyd is invincible. as long as he's fighting guys with his size and guys that are a bit bigger than him, he's not gonna lose and that's the bottom line.
natural 147 pounders too not people moving up or down. Floyd faced 2 people to earn a shot at Baldomir, 1 was a legit opponent who accustomed to the weight and the other wasn't, he then gets the #1 man in the sport. Miguel Cotto has defeated Oktay Urkal, Zab Judah, Carlos Quintana and the future Hall Of Famer Shane mosley whom has beaten Floyd's up and coming opponent already twice, I would think that qualifies Cotto for a shot don't you? I mean he beat Judah who was the only real Welterweight Floyd fought before getting a shot at the title and beating Shane Mosley blows out both Carlos Baldomir and Sharmba Mictchell out of the water doesn't it?
Floyd isn't doing what was done for him, THATS why people are mad. I'm not mad I just think that if you aren't going to defend the belt in the same way it was defended to you, if you aren't going to take on the toughest challenges OF YOUR DIVISION like the champion before you did with you then you shouldn't hold up the line to extend a reign as a champion who isn't defending his title amongst the best of his class.. not saying that he can't beat those guys but I can speculate all I want right? it ain't really **** until i can say "he beat him" not that "he CAN beat him", correct? you have a lot to learn about Boxing son..Last edited by crillz; 02-04-2008, 03:05 AM.Comment
