Well he could have fought Shane Mosley, Kostya Tszyu, Eric Morales, Joel Cassamayor, etc, etc and he could fight Miguel Cotto or Paul Williams, but he'd rather fight another couple of has beens and then retire undefeated, just like Sven Ottke.

Good post. Mayweather has carefully chosen his opponents, avoiding those who would have the best chance of defeating him.
True champions fight the best: Hagler fought Hearns, Duran fought Leonard, Holyfield fought everybody. Mayweather's legacy will not compare to these men.
I would prefer to see him fight Cotto...and really will not pay to see him fight Dela Hoya again.
But...he is a 'prize'fighter, and Dela Hoya offers him the biggest prize, not to mention much less risk.So the question is,what would you do?
Imagine if he loses...there will be a third fight with Dela Hoya.
Blame the conman,Oscar...
Besides...if no one bought the fight, there would be no fight. The enemy is ourselves...or at least those who will pay to see that bull****.
I recognize that mayweather is the best welterweight in the world and p4p champion of the world. He definetly beat the best in 06(judah,baldomir), but if mayweather doesn't fight a top welter this year he should be stripped of the title.
