mayweather is the truth. cast as a villain, he is the face of the sport today and will be for a while, whoever the threadstarter is, i really don't give flying **** about his name or whatever or if he's even a racist, floyd mayweather jr is the truth, face it. it's easy to bash him on the internet on a forum that he probably doesn't even read, but to go through what's he's been through and what he is still going through and to stay undefeated throughout, there ain't a insult or criticism in the world that means **** to him, and that's why even with the many threads and posts about him on this forum, the only thing it's doing, is making his name bigger and bigger and bigger, so thanks to the posters and thread starters from this forum.
Floyd Mayweather Jr is not a true champion

This thread is hilarious.....
The haters will always hate, no matter what. Floyd has proved, repeatedly, that he is "the truth." When you have wins on your resume over the likes of Oscar De La Hoya, Jose Luis Castillo, Ricky Hatton, Zab Judah, the late and great Diego Corrales, and a host of others it really makes the haters of you look ****** when they attempt to delegitimize your accomplishments. This thread is case in point.....Last edited by Reg_One; 02-03-2008, 01:46 PM.Comment

everyone knows floyd won 116-112 straight up, lets not forget how much floyd moved up in his career and still managed to win.Yes, all Floyd could do is manage a SD over a past prime, inactive boxer who had lost three of his past four fights (including the Sturm robbery).
Not much of a champion. A prime version of De La Hoya would certainly have defeated him.
Who does he want to fight now? An even older, more past prime DLH. Now that's really hand-picking an opponent!Comment

Well David Haye owns over half the belts in the division... you at least try to not look like an idiot I guess.
And don't you DARE ****ing lie. If Floyd Mayweather Jr. was named Mikhail Stalin Jr. and was from Russia with his talent and what not, he would be your favorite fighter hands down and you would make endless threads defending his honor.Comment

Plain and basic common sense. Mayweather is a businessman. He's given up on being a fighter.Floyd is not a true champion, because he's going to fight someone who is well past his best and has only won once in four years: Oscar De La Hoya. Someone whom he's already defeated.
Some people say there's a lot of talent in the welterweight division, but Mayweather seems to be avoiding prime age welterweights like Cotto, Margarito, Cintron, Clottey and Williams. A true champion fights the strongest opponents available - Floyd avoids them and fights hand-picked opponents, like the smaller super lightweight Ricky Hatton.
Cotto would much prefer to fight Floyd instead of Gomez, but Floyd is not interested in going against Miguel or anyone else who might have a chance of defeating him.Comment
