Plenty tipped Castillo to beat Hatton but he was conveniently shot afterwards.
Castillo also knocked Chico out in brutal fashion. Most people were saying that Castillo would beat Hatton and that Castillo would be better at 140 since he wouldn't be weight drained trying to get to 135.

Hatton has been called out by Torres, Witter, Malinaggi and Rees in the last month. Whoever he picks to fight people will say he's ducking the other three. When Hatton wins the guy will be "overrated."

Hatton ducking Witter is a complete joke. Hatton is an international star while Junior is still a local fighter who has very few fans and ZERO meaningful wins. If Witter really wants a fight with Ricky he would be trying to unify the belts and then calling Ricky out.

About Collazo-Hatton, there wasn't much domination going on by Hatton. Hatton won most 7 rounds with a knockdown early, but those five rounds Collazo won were a cheat sheet on how to beat Ricky Hatton.

Hatton is a marked man right now, he needs to do something big outside of the cozy confines of Manchester to earn respect. All of that homecooking has a vulnerable fighter made.
He already has but he doesn't need to prove anything outwith the UK anyway and if you have ever visited Manchester, at this time of year especially, you will not it ain't cosy.

I dunno what he's done outside of UK to give opponents anything to worry about as far as mental games. Right now, he's being called out by everyone under the sky.

If he fights guys like Torres and Witter, dangerous but beatable opponents, he'll have put himself at a higher place by boxing standards than he was before the Mayweather fight. But it's likely he'll choose Malignaggi or other light-hitting opponents instead.

Collazo is more dangerous than Torres and Witter. Hatton has fought in America four times now winning on three occasions.

Collazo is a good fighter, but Torres is a much bigger puncher. Let's remember, Hatton's performance against Collazo wasn't exactly a feather in his cap. If anything, I wouldn't bring Collazo up to support any pro-Hatton arguments.

Witter is the perfect opponent for Hatton to prove himself against. If Hatton can convincingly beat Witter, he's back on track.

Ricky Hatton's next opponent should and will naturally be a tune-up. Coming off not only your first loss but also a knockout destructive loss can have serious ramifications on a fighters psyche. Given Hattons strengths, and most importantly his weakness, bouts with Malignaggi, Torres, or Witter are by no means "walk in the parks". A bout with Rees, now we're talking. Though Hatton has some attributes that could allow him to beat all the aforementioned characters (speed, unorthodox movement, steady aggression), he also possesses some defiencies that would allow him to potentially lose to the aforementioned fighters (lack of technique, ring generalship, questionable defense). Rees is by far his easiest fight, and makes the most sense financially, economically, and spiritually, as it would ensure victory and uplift not only Hatton following his devasting first loss, but also his fans. This is just my 2 cents. I know boxing.

Hatton/Torres has the best chance for fireworks. I think Torres is pretty average even though he has a belt and gave Cotto hell. Hatton should have no problem, it's just Torres' power that makes it interesting because Hatton gets hit.
