What I don't understand is the blatant hypocrisy of some users. They say "If Calzaghe said that it would have been an uproar" without noting that Hopkins is still getting backlash from his comments.

I don't think he's racist, I think he was at a loss for what to say after Joe showed no respect for him and reminded him about losing to Taylot. RECALL THAT HOPS WALKED AWAY IN SHAME BEFORE COMING BACK ANGRILY WITH THOSE COMMENTS. It was the action of a man who didn't know what to say. No big deal, but it shouldn't be spun as if it was a planned media ploy. If that were the case, he wouldn't be explaining it away now.

You know what I say when I wake up in the morning? I say: I hope to hear the latest update on the story surrounding Bernard Hopkins' use of the word 'white' to describe Joe Calzaghe. That's what I say, because that is a big story. Then, I like to mock indignation at the idea that a black person can say something that a white person can't say. I then get very angry at the injustice and hypocripsy in the world. I then have a bowl of honey nut cherrrios and go back to bed.

if Joe had said it he would have been on every news channel radio station ,paper from here to afghanistan & back & thats nothing compared to the backlash he would get from the British Public press etc any endorsments he had he would have been dropped from ,put it this way take a look what Jade Goody Off Big Brother went through

He's getting backlash, but IF Joe C said it, the reaction would 50 X worse and would actually be on CNN and MSNBC, a media circus. Personally I dont care, but that is the argument people are making.

most of the worst Boxing fans in this country are'nt really Boxing fans they are Football fans who think they can act the way they do on the terraces of a Football stadium ,just an illustration of the type of hate filled fans these types of comments could attract form the US & Britain
