He made a ***ed up comment that he shouldnt of said, The bit where say's I dont dislike white people I have a white friend called Dave!!!!That dont mean ****...Didnt white people use to say that about black people???? Hopkins made a bad call with that remark, And its taken him from the 7 December til now to explain himself..What a wanker, I'm black and I hate twats who make ***ed up comments like that..And now hes back tracking and coming up with all types of B.S!!There are many ways of promoting a fight this aint one of erm.

IMO, America is obsessed by race period.
Whenever I've visited I'm always amazed how everyone lives seperately from one another. Black people in one neighbourhood, rich whites in their enclosed estate, poor whites in their trailers, hispanics in their tenements. It's a weird society to an outsider, like me. Not hating, just an honest observation.
Anyway back to topic...
In all seriousness, I understand Hopkins wanting to sell the fight, but he struck a really low blow, and I think it's kind of sad that someone who calls himself a legend has to resort to racial slurs to sell a fight. It's cheap and nasty. He has also hugely underestimated Calzaghe if he thinks the same mind games PBF played on Hatton will work on Calzaghe. This is not Ali/Foreman. Calzaghe is a very smart operator.Comment

I'm not saying Bernard's comment was classy or even acceptable but he uses what works and his comment definitely worked.
Hell, even Calzaghe is playing along with it by saying he is going to be 'all white when they fight' and 'this white boy is going to kick his ass'.Comment

Fireworks4u is as ignorant as they come. The words of a bitter African American, using a boxing forum as a forum to spew his "feel sorry for me for being black" garbage. Every single line in his "upset about being called 'white boy'" diatribe, I can reverse and/or rationalize.

And Im sure if Calzaghe said "I'll never lose to a black guy" that the black community would just be "relax and chill"...cuz "he didn't mean", he was just hyping the fight. (As reverend Sharpton and Jesse Jackson petition the boxing commissions to have Clazaghe suspended and/or thrown out of boxing)Comment
