I dont think that Pavlik would necessarily have it easy against Roy Jones. Pavlik has kind of a sloppy style, as shown against Taylor, he can be hit and hurt with regularity.

I believe 80% of the old Roy Jones could defeat Kelly Pavlik. Jones still has fast hands and power, but i think his feet have slowed dramatically which would make him vunerable.

I think this is a 50-50 fight, depending on how much Jones has left, and if those knockouts he received are indicative of his abilities.

Good post, and I agree with the points made.

This thread sucks so much because I was going to make a thread today talking about this fight. I am totally shocked to hear the responses so far considering everyone was going crazy about RJ immediatly after the Tito fight.

Hold on, my mind actually just slipped. I was actually going to make the thread of Pavlik vs Tito at 168 since Tito looked pretty solid in the RJ fight. Call me crazy but I thought Tito would have a great chance. He still had crazy power in the RJ fight and seemed to have some speed back. I wouldnt be shocked at all if Tito KO Pavlik or Taylor at 168.

Now there talking about Pavlik-RJ and everyone is picking Pavlik? Come on now. The kid is good but he's not any kind of All Time great where you guys should be acting like this is a automatic victory. I actually would favor RJ at 168 if thats what he said in his interview because I didnt read it. Pavlik is slow as dirt and is super chinny. I think RJ could definatly beat him at 168 and I think he should be the favorite

Why is getting hit flush by Jermain Taylor and getting hurt considered super chinny? Jones isn't what he once was, he has to take rest periods in the ring now, if he does that against Pavlik, he'll lose. He got pushed back by a smaller man in Trinidad when Trinidad wanted to come forward, Pavlik is bigger and more powerful and would make Jones backup to the ropes without much problem IMO. I also believe that Jones is more chinny at this stage of his career than Pavlik is.

And Pavlik destroys Tito in about 5 rounds.

Pavlik was hit by about 10 or 15 flush shots (in round 2) and the referee could have called the fight off. Pavlik was staggering across the ring at one stage. Not especially chinny but easy to hit

Tito has been extremely inactive over a lengthy period of time. He was fighting out of weight, and he's also years past his prime. Despite all that RJJ still couldn't stop him! He's not knocking out Pavlik and he doesn't have the stamina/workrate to win a decision. I understand that memories of the RJJ era were hard to ignore when he looked half decent against Tito, but be serious. Pavlik is in the process of peaking. Chinny? Not in Rjj's wildest dreams could he hit Pavlik the way Miranda and Taylor did.. and Pavlik still came back to Stop those men inside of 10 rounds!
