you guys forget that Roy Jones Jr is a Light Heavyweight who only dropped 5 to dance with Trinidad, in truth if Pavlik, Calzaghe or Hopkins took those fights they would have to meet Jones up there, the only guy I can see getting away with fighting at a lower weight due to the magnitude of this fight is Oscar De La Hoya, but as Roy just revealed Oscar wants no part of Roy Jones Jr, he rather take a 2nd crack at a smaller man this time with his 2 faced father there to feed him tips, a fight I STILL don't think he will win. nevertheless this ain't about him, Jones would give ANY of the 3 names hell in Light Heavyweight, Joe is too sloppy and leaves himself open to be hit, if Roy defends the way he did against Trinidad he can out hustle Joe, Joe just throws punches in bunches but keep in mind while doing that he ain't defending so how can he deter a pop shot Roy and one who hits then guards? most of those punches will be lost on Roy's guard IF he guards the way he did against Tito so if he can catch Joe at those times where he is NOT hitting but in close the he can land good on the eye combinations, make his head jerk back a few times and get him while he's restarting the car, people act like Joe punches all 3 minutes of every single round and doesn't get hit back which is bull****..
Kessler is no Roy Jones Jr when it comes to skills I don't give a **** what any of you say and Kessler gave Joe problems it's just Kessler as I already said doesn't possess the skills require to out do Joe, he has a decent guard, decent stamina, good power and good chin, overall a solid fighter who is dangerous to anyone but nothing near Roy Jones Jr's level. Calzaghe doesn't hit THAT hard it's just a cumulative effect that daze's and puts away fighters whether by TKO or sometimes KO but for the most part he punches in close at a range where he can be hit back and HARD and also someone like Jones doesn't have to stay in range he can do both, remain in range or pop shot, both will work on Joe.
Bernard Hopkins will cheat his ass off and his chances at winning will only boil down to 1 question and 1 question only, will he be successful in his cheating? if he can't get away with it he wont win, at this day and age he can't cope with the velocity of Calzaghe's punches, Taylor beat him on sheer activity and just kept punching leaving Bernard on the defensive, Joe will Triple Jermain's punch numbers and unless he gets head butted to death where he's winning on the cards and they have to stop the fight or turns old over night and doesn't throw punches which against Hopkins is VERY possible but I doubt it.
I speak nothing of Pavlik because lets be real here whether he wins or losses he has a fight set up with John Duddy in June or something like that so realistically speaking win or lose his hands are tied up already and Calzaghe-Hopkins will produce a winner whom will be able to fight Roy immediately while Roy takes a fight against Winky Wright at either 170 or 175, either way it will be a good set up of a showdown later in the year at Light Heavyweight for Joe-Hop winner and Roy to get it poppin and I like Roy's chances against both.. I'm NOT saying I think Roy will win I'm only stating his chances and judging by the styles which makes fights Roy's chances are great.Comment

Jones-Pavlik is a bout I doubt will happen. Pavlik moving from 160 to 175 would naturally slow him down, it wouldnt make him faster. The weight would suit him well becuz of his tall, lean frame, but it would hinder his speed. You cant really say if his power would increase/decrease. In any case, Jones is the natural LH and would obv have the speed advantage. Speed kills, unless nullified by power or ring generalship. Pavlik's work rate would enable him constantly apply pressure to Jones, but the added weight might limit the amount of punches he can throw. Jones also has the intelligence on his side, whereas Pavlik is pretty one dimensional (double jab- right hand). Jones' speed, intelligence, and weight advantages could give him a really great chance to win this fight. Pavliks reach, height, power and punch output advantages give him a really great chance as well. All this makes for a great fight. Unfortunately, I seriously doubt itll happen. Win lose or draw Pavliks fighting Duddy later with a unification with Abraham later in the year. Im thinking Jones will be sidelined and face the winner of Calzaghe-Hopkins in his next fight. Just my 2 cents. I know boxing.Comment

Damn....when did Roy start smokin rocks????
LOL, Roy's win over Trinidad is bringing him back to the old RJJ we came to love and hate (ala Floyd Mayweather).
But again fellas, this isn't 1994-2002. Roy's best days are behind him. If he fights Pavlik...send me the address to the hospital he'll be at to send him a "Get Well" cardComment
