To me it's the guy that a lot of people think is the greatest ever, the one with the greatest defence ever (I guess an elbow to the throat is a defence) and so much better than anyone else in the sport, especially the most talented division, that he doesn't even need to prove himself (keep his #1 p4p status) by fighting anyone, that that spot is his till he loses, even if he never fights Cotto, Williams, etc. Mayweather/DLH III anyone?

What, in your opinion, does Cotto need to do to be "worthy" of fighting Mayweather. I'll go out on a limb here and say that Cotto's more well known than Hatton before he fought PBF. I think Mayweather beats Cotto. Might be closer than expected though.

I'd agree with that. I reckon more people in the general public would have heard of Cotto before Hatton, as you said before he fought PBF.

You didn't include Margarito. He is EASILY the most overhyped boxer. Every other boxer on that list is at least indisputably pretty good. Margarito didn't start fighting good competition until 5 years ago. In the last 4 years he's only fought 4 fights against legitimate world class contenders and he's gone 2-2. It's pathetic. What's worse...NO ONE and I mean absolutely no one will admit to being a fan of his. No matter how hard they try to defend him against Mayweather leaving him on the curb so that he could fight DLH instead people refuse to admit they are fans of his.
