Ricky Hatton was not for real

So you're agreeing that he handpicked opponents until Mayweather?Comment

i have always agreed that frank warren hand picked his opponents. i give credit to him for leaving frank and going for the big fights in america. if you really think that a boxer makes his own choices then you need to learn that boxing is a business, not just a sport.Comment

Hatton fought Mayweather at 147. Mayweather wants to really prove he's the best have him come down in weight and fight Hatton at 140. Hatton is king at 140.Comment

what difference will that make hatton will still lose.why doesn't hatton fight the best at 140 like paulie, witter, torres, holt, harris and reese if he's the best at 140 he doesn't even have a beltComment

I agree in that: The difference in the fight was Mayweather's SKILL, not Cortez's OFFICIATING. Mayweather is the better fighter, and he proved it.Can we please stop talking about Cortez. Look, I think Cortez was terrible. I think he was, for some reason, trying to make himself the center of attention. I don't think he made a huge difference in the fight. The reach advantage and size advantage are infinitely more indicative of Hatton's problems in that fight.Comment

Weight class really wouldn't make a difference for that fight. It's not like Mayweather wouldn't have made weight, and gone back up to what he fought at on fight night anyway...Comment

I like Hatton. He's a good guy.
He HAS been smothering his own work lately. He gets in too close and can't get his shots off. He can't get at the body effectively. I'm all for a bit of rough tactics but he hasn't looked good for a few fights. Before he caught Castillo to the body he was looking similarly ineffective.
I'd like to see him back to his old self but I wonder if he's lost the confidence to **** from inside without leaning on.
A bit of a shame as it would have been a thrilling fight. He still would have lost to the superior Mayweather but we might have seen a real, exciting fight.Comment
