Countdown to Marquez-Barrera made me wonder...

Someone said that it was extremely difficult to pick which was the better fight of the trilogy, Morales-Barrera I, or Barrera-Morales III.

Personally, I go with III, but I know there are others who feel differently. I am curious which one the majority of fans like better.

I always preferred the first one because it was exciting and very close to score, even though I had Barrera winning, Morales got the verdict. To me the third one, while exciting was clearly Barrera's.

You are one of the few who I have talked to that thought the first fight was close... I thought it was clearly Barrera's too.

Only my main man -Hyperion- had it for Morales of everyone that I have talked to.

2000 was the better one for me...

Right now I'm the only one who has picked 04 so far... I thought they were both really good, but perhaps I missed something from the 2000 fight, because apparantly everyone say something that I didn't if 2004 isn't getting any votes.

Personally I'd go with number III. In the first one the decision went the wrong way and then it was balanced up in the next fight with the decision going the wrong way. No contest in number III, Barrera was magic.

Yeah, I personally like 2000 better. I feel that they were both at their absolute and one hundred % peak for that fight. I feel that that was their defining fight and showed the best of both fighters. Morales will, strong chin and great boxing and brawling abilities and Barrera's focus, amazing combination punching and smart boxer/puncher style.

Their third fight while nearly as good didn't seem as if they were at their true complete physical peaks anymore. Well, at least Morales didn't seem as quick on his feet although whether that was because Barrera was so good that night, I do not know. Both incredible fights but the back and forth action of the first and the times when I thought Morales was out on his feet and would then come roaring back throwing down like a man possessed just did it for me. When Barrera cracked Morales with a vicious punch against the ropes at the end of round...eight, I believe (could have been seven?), and he sagged down as if he was knocked out and about to go down then suddenly seemed to switch back into focus and just went completely nuts was one of the greatest moments in boxing I've ever seen!

Of course round five as well. Quite possibly the greatest round of boxing I've ever witnessed. Simply stunning

Edit: Like most people I had the first for Barrera, second for Morales and third for Barrera.

I had Morales winning the first fight as well, D. The first one was close, but Morales clearly won the second fight.

Sure, Barrera won the IIIrd fight handily enough, but I thought there was no need because I had Morales ahead in the first two.

Anyway, the first fight is my favorite of the three.
