By the same token, I think many may now be underrating him based on the subpar performance vs. Ngoudjo. Against Ricky Hatton, you'd see the best Malignaggi possible.

I agree, Paulie had an off night against Ngoudjo, before that fight there was plenty of people raving about his slick skills. In saying that, I still think Hatton would destroy him.

He's only real fight was against Cotto and he got whooped. Hatton and DLH would do the same thing.

i think paulie outboxes ricky and manages to keep hatton off him, i think that hatton is pretty disheartened after his first loss (especially such a devastating KO) and paulie will be too fleet footted for him winning a fairly comfortable, although not easy UD, agaionst oscar though its a diffferent story oscar is more skilled and hits alot harder and will hunt down paulie and manage to stop him IMO, although iif he is too slow footed at his age now, paulie wins a UD

Im a malignaggi fan but i do believe he still has a lot to prove in terms of if he can hang with the big boys. He needs to beat a more well known name. He def has the skills but he needs to bring his "A" game every time. He can't pull what he pulled in his last fight against a veteran. I do think that lay off hurt him, he seems like the kind of guy that needs a fight every 3 months.
