Brass Tax: Does Mayweather Fear Cotto?
Collapse

I don't think he's scared of Cotto, but undoubtably Cotto will be a tough fight. I think at this point Money has it in his head that he's proved how great he is and is only gonna take the biggest money fights that are available. Case in point the DLH/Mayweather rematch. To me with the WW division being the toughest division in boxing right now, if he were to clear it out and be the undisputed WW champ then he coud be mentioned as one of the best ever. I feel like somewhere down the line though he'll fight Cotto especially if Cotto keeps winning because then it would be a huge money fight.Comment

You move too soon, again. Mayweather would defeat Cotto.
Try thinking next time about what I might actually do, sophmore.Comment

So let me get this straight
Floyd is scared of Cotto but Floyd would defeat Cotto. Yes/No?
Cotto is not kingkong, bigfoot, godzilla or a prime tyson. Just ask a past his prime Mosley and he will tell you what it is.Comment

I agree, Floyd feels like he's stepping into the ****pit of an SR71 when he gets in the ring. Before the Corrales fight you can see him getting visible endorphin rushes feeling his own super power.
I'm certain Floyd is confident of victory.
He is still somewhat nervous as a person overall at times though, or so it seems. He's obviously not exactly a warrior.Last edited by Addison; 01-27-2008, 08:21 PM.Comment

He's scared, and he would win.
Heart-to-heart I think most people think Cotto eats Mayweather for breakfast. I'm not saying that's what I think, but Floyd is willing to let people think that.Comment

Well since a fight with Cotto is clearly not happening this year and another fight with Oscar does nothing for Floyd's status, I don't see Floyd being as big a favorite as he was against Oscar, no. Slight, of course, big, no.Comment
