Roy has shown flashes of what he was pre Ruiz in the 3rd Tarver bout, Hanshaw and Trinidad fights but thats all they were....flashes. I think what you've got to realise is that jones's style was speed, reflexes, athletisism, all attributes that fade with age (although he is still the fastest light-heavy out there). I think Roy at this point could still campaign at top level even though he isnt the 'elite' fighter he once was, his next fight, be it against Calzaghe, Dawson or even a rematch with Clinton Woods will answer all of our questions

I think your full of **** and your avatar explains your hate towards jones. You cant compare joe's resume to jones. Jones has already shown what he can do. I wont even list the accomplishments. Your asking "post ruiz" but it's the "pre ruiz" that still makes rjj a top fighter. He is capable of alot in the ring even at this age. Joe hasn't impressed me at all. WHO THE **** HAS HE FAUGHT a prime jones would ko joe in less then 6 rounds!! and jones can and will be joe at this age. Jones has something that joe doesnt and cant train a million years to have and that's god given natural talent.

Roy hasn't done anything "world-class" other than the Tarver fight, which I thought he lost - but it was a competitive fight. But that doesn't necessarily tarnish his career - it's his choice to continue when his skills have deteriorated, partly due to his age, and partly perhaps due to the weight gain/loss for going up to heavy and then back (at least this is my buddy's theory - Roy's his favorite fighter)

calzaghe is just a good fighter that has got to where he is at with hard work. although roy jones is here for the same reason he has some unbelievable intangibles that calzaghe will never have. Jones is just a natural freek. he was probably faster then lightweights for crying out loud.
