first off, he isn't much of a prospect cuz he is 28 years old. he has only about another 2 years of his prime left cuz he spent most of his adult career in the amateurs which was ******. this is about as good as he is gonna get and klitchsko, chagaev, peter could all take care of him.

I think he could have a good shot of beating anybody except Wlad. I think he should go for about 2 or 3 more fights until he fights Wlad. I like his punch output and it lasted pretty much for 12 rounds, but he was eating a lot of left jab, right hand combos by Chambers and Wlad I think would KO him with that combo at sometime during the fight.Comment

I think he'd beat Chagaev.first off, he isn't much of a prospect cuz he is 28 years old. he has only about another 2 years of his prime left cuz he spent most of his adult career in the amateurs which was ******. this is about as good as he is gonna get and klitchsko, chagaev, peter could all take care of him.
He's durable as hell and if that fight goes to the trenches, how is Chagaev going to deal with someone throwing 80 punches a round sneaking some upstairs.
Wlad would just murder him because of the obvious in that he's undersized and limited and his brawling fight style is tailor made for Klitschko.
Peter yeah because of the obvious as well. He has the boxing ability, and how would Povetkin deal with those huge pot shots? LOL.

** Well for now I'd say. Disappointing to see Chambers was nothing but a punch bag, but it wasn't unexpected.
1. Wlad
2. Ibragimov
3. Valuev
4. Povetkin
5. Peter
Like to see Briggs turn Peter into Abraham Okine. Povetkin can beat Peter if he survives the early rounds, not a given since he's not really been tested with a puncher. Of course Peter has never been able to KO a top ranked fighter yet either. My guess is they line Povetkin up with a marshmallow until Wlad can dispose of Sultan rather than risk their gravy train fight.
The division is a lot stronger than it's critics' veracity. Wlad to outbox and outslug everyone though unless the odd homerun shot lands. I'd like to see Kevin Johnson make a run in the ring instead of the mouth. The time is now for him. Must be a ton of East Euro heavies turning pro with a dream these days.Comment

I agree. Just imagine how easily Wladimir would tag him with his right hand. He's only got 15 pro fights. Let him grow as a fighter.I say good prospect who needs to be moved slowly. Because I think Klitschko, Peter and Valuev all would be favored to beat him up.
But I maintain.......he's still the best prospect in the HW division and he's a lock for a future HW FOTY type candidate down the road.
I'd also hazard to guess that as he grows older, he'll rely on 1 punch more so than he does now, and he'll be a knockout puncher.
Either that, or he goes to the dark side and starts clinching like Ruiz does. That would mean the FOTY prophecy is negated.Comment

he'd easily out work peter for a decision win and I havent seen any evidence of a weak chin on pov allthough its still untested. peter has yet to be able to stop an even semi durable opponent and Ive seen no evidence that povetkin would collapse from a long slow wind up peter punch. chageav would probably beat him as would wlad,,, and sultan would be a very close fight assuming sultan wouldnt get ****** and put on 13 lbs of fat and stand right in front of pov as he did with austinfirst off, he isn't much of a prospect cuz he is 28 years old. he has only about another 2 years of his prime left cuz he spent most of his adult career in the amateurs which was ******. this is about as good as he is gonna get and klitchsko, chagaev, peter could all take care of him.Comment
