I agree with this......In fact I was even less impressed watching it a second time.....This Jones is back talk is for the birds.

He just didn't look the same to me.
He didn't move very much and at times it looked like he wanted to throw but couldn't put it together.
I hope it was just his game plan for Tito and less of a new style.
I still think he can beat Hop and Calz but if he can't get back to using his feet more then they will be much harder fights then he's ever been in.

Roy couldnt have put Joe away in his prime, I'm afraid. He did occasionally have one punch KO power but most the time it was an add on effect from punishment they took earlier in the fight. Calzaghe is simply too slick to be caught enough by even a prime Roy, let alone the shot version that fought Trinidad. Everyone says that he looked impressive in beating Tito, but since Tito was best at 147, and was long since removed from the ring, I should hope he looks impressive against him. As for Roys speed, what little foot speed he did have has long since gone and his hand speed is slowly following it out of the door, dont forget that Tito wasnt the quickest of fighters in his prime, so looking fast in comparison to the Tito that fought Roy is no big achievement. Roy beats Hopkins all night long, no way Hopkins can win that one, but right now, Calzaghe outclasses RJJ.

Roy could have definitely put Joe away prime vs prime. Roy's one punch KO's actually come more from speed than power. You can't brace for a punch you don't see and if it hits even mildly hard enough you will be out like a light.

Wrong again. Joe has been hit by harder punchers than RJJ and hasnt been put away yet.

Jones could beat Joe right now! whats with all this "volume punching" that joe would do against Jones. all that would do would leave the door wide open for counters. and once joe saw first hand the hand spped from jones he would be less likely to want to open up. and once Joe slows his attack due to the counterpunchng, he would be fighting a Jones fight. and if he did open up, he doesnt have the one punch KO power to scare jones. Joe beat lacy(not a boxer) for 12 rounds and couldnt put him away. so the power is not there for Joe against Jones.

Jones did not use footwork that much because he didnt have to his footwork is still there if u saw his last 3 fights. He is also using a tighter defense, Joe will still be the favorite but its a pick em fight. Joe has never fought someone like RJJ and dont say Kessler because he is good but orthodox and slow compared to Roy. Peace

Good reply and ppl are quick to say Roy is wahsed up....at this stage of his career Roy is startin to think....Look at the trinidad fight how he discourages tito when he taunts him.... First of all if u watch the fight his punch out put started to go up as the fight went along he wore tito down and then punished him.

I was more impressed with Tito than i am was Jones. He had not fought in two years his punch timing was off but his reflexes looked good and he was fighting to win not just to pick up a check like i thought he would.
This is fight benefited jones because it was against a big name like Tito, now people are starting to get interested in him again.

Oh please, roy beat a past his weight and prime that hasn't fought in almost three years.Roy won simply because he has been the more active of the two, If he would've laid off for three years he would've looked like Tio if not worse. Tito looked fat and alot slower. I really don't think would take Tito's will when taunting him, tito was just smart enough when roy taunted. He watched tapes of guys getting caught flush when they aproached roy after his infamous taunts. Tito will actually win a belt if he goes down to 160 maybe even 154. Roy won't win a belt.
