Something makes me very suspect of Berto. Not to sure exactly what it is yet. He just kind of seems like a plodder and one deminisonal? But i COULD BE WRONG. That is why I want to see him in with stiffer competition......
I know against Rivera he didn't move very much and didn't use a jab hardly at all, which led to him getting knocked down. Against Estrada though he moved more and used that excellent jab, which led to the KO. His offensive game has good variety, but I agree his defense is suspect at times and his beard is still up for debate. Hopefully the fight against Trabant he'll show even more.

Yeah, that is hard to say because I have never even heard of Trabant, much less seen him fight, and he's not even a top 20 ranked welter.

yeah your right when he used that jab and the moved behind and went to the body more he looked good, he hardly went to the body at all in the cosme rivera fight, and he often moves back with his hands down allowing people to tag his chin thats how cosme caught him berto opened his hands up and got tagged by a left uppercut on what could be a suspect chin

I'll tell you... if Berto fights Clottey, Berto's 0 is going.

Joshua Clottey is going to be damn good when someone gives him a chance (again... ****ing hands against Margarito though...).

i have one major concern with clottey; his stamina, composure, toughness and techinque seem to be world class.

i could be wrong, but what i question is, and what needs to be answered is his punching power. i can't figure out why he didn't or couldn't stop corrales flores and alvarez. it seemed like he caught them enough?

Yeah, his power might be a little on the below average side...

I actually didn't catch the Flores or Alvarez fights...

Against Corrales he did beat Corrales up really badly, even if he didn't stop him. He really should have, considering Diego had no business fighting at welterweight.

Hey may become a fighter who has the power to get respect and keep other fighters off of him, but not a KO fighter... which isn't necessarily a bad thing I don't think.

no it's not at all. i just want to see if he can outclass the elite welters the way he outclassed corrales and alvarez. clottey/pw would answer alot of those questions.

and i think if PW does not or can not stop quintana he is way OVER-HYPED.
