On the rematch with Chavez, if that doesn't clearly show that the WBC is in Don King's pocket, I don't know what does. Chavez decided to go to the cards when he felt like it, and even still I thought Randall was ahead.
Don't make me blush like that...

That sounds ****ing ridiculous. Don King...

I was watching Jorge Castro-John David Jackson last night, and the announcers made a comment like, "The voice you hear at ringside is Don King's, who is not only a promoter, but a fight fan."

What a ****ing joke. A real fight fan wouldn't hurt boxing as much as he has in the past.

he has done some good for the sport but like any promoter they are in it for themselves.

The stuff he did in the 70's was class.

You'd be surprised at how candid John David Jackson is about what happened in the Castro fight. He doesn't have any gripes about making mistakes that cost him the biggest fight of his career.

They say that money talks, and King had the money to make some serious chatter. I give him credit for putting together some of the greatest events in the history of sports, let alone boxing.

Don King did a lot of things not all of them bad.

He did. The thrilla in manilla. The rumble in the jungle. Two examples.

Oh yeah, his interview afterwards put the blame solely on his own self. He did say he didn't know why they didn't stop it for the cuts, which I can agree with.

I wasn't talking about King in that fight, but instances like what you posted and other stuff he has done is NOT good for the sport.

Side note: Why did they not stop the Castro-Jackson fight in the 3rd round where Jackson landed like 25 unanswered punches in a 40 second period when Castro was just covering up (and not very well) on the ropes?

I dunno, but a friend of mine Martin was a stablemate of Castro at that point and Castro tried telling Argentinians that his plan was to wait out the storm and come back. Suffice it to say, it was more Lamon Brewster-Wlad Klitschko than Ali-Foreman, if you catch my drift.
