    Vegas Hotels

I have just booked a ticket and flights for the Calzaghe vs Hopkins fight, but am delaying booking my hotel until the end of next month.

Any ideas on where i should stay, unfortunately i'm going by myself as the fiancee cannot come, budget is about £300-400 or $600-800 but preferably on the lower scale so i'll have more to spend.

    Any help would be great?

    Plus, anyone else going?

You didn't say how many nights you would be there. My experience is that for value and location, Ballys is a nice place to stay. If you don't care that much about location, the Las Vegas Hilton has good prices for that class of hotel. And if accomodations aren't important and money is, then stay downtown.

Also don't wait too long to book a hotel room. If there is a big convention in LV the same weekend as the fight, you won't find ANYTHING. Trust me on that one.

I second Bally's. The price and location is great.

Also, whatever hotel you get make sure it's girl friendly...lol.

I enjoyed the Palm, which is not too far from the strip. The Monte Carlo is also a personal favorite which is on the strip. The strip is only a taxi ride away so you can stay anywhere in Vegas. You don't have to find a hotel on the strip.

The Luxor is nice for the money, plus its on the good end of the strip, next to mandalay bay and across from the MGM. The Excalibur and Tropicana are right there too, good price for the location but not quite as nice as Luxor. Also there is a tram that runs from Mandalay to Luxor to Excalibur so if you stay there you dont have to walk between those hotels. I have never stayed at a hotel besides the ones listed above as they are within walking distance of everything cool and have less riff raff and trashy people running around.

Dont go for real cheap like the Circus Circus or Stratosphere. The money you save on the room will end up being spent on transportaion to get to and from the places you want to be.
