Good work Ryan. And Manny seems very interested in your questions; he truly is one of the best interviews around. Always a pleasure to talk to him. As someone else asked, I too am interested in what you thought of Banks. How did he look in there?
I attended Wlad Klitschko's Training Camp Today

i coulda sworn we were debating flores vs banks awhile back and that you thought flores was the better prospect, i guess i was mistaken, my badComment

we might've been, and if not I will now. Flores is still the better prospect. More all around game, better skills, slightly better whiskers. BJ went down from Chris Thomas, before he only went sdown from a strong heavyweight who all he had was power, but when Thomas dropped Flores it sparked questions in my mind. One being BJ's focus and the other chin. Back to Banks though. Even though Flores got up from Thomas, Banks showed MUCH greater heart ini getting up from Castillo's big shots twice and going to knockout the heartless Castillo with a jab. I have seen NUMEROUS fighters that have loads of talent but no heart. I have seen even more fighters with some talent and tons of heart, and its that second group that for the most part triumphs. So while I think Flores has more talent than Banks and still a better career possibly down the road, Flores will need to show heart against Darnell, Johnathon has showed me heart, and ever since, little else.Comment

I didn't get to see Banks spar, but I'll be back at his camp soon to see if he gets in the ring. Andy Lee and Aaron Pryor Jr both said he was looking sharp and will be in action on the undercard of Wlad-Ibragimov. Emmanuel told me that he expects Banks to be tested and will be ready for a title shot by the end of the year.
I was in attendance the night Banks climbed off the canvas and stopped Castillo, I'm very impressed with his character.Comment

And I might return a few more times before it's time to wrap things up on Feb 17. I interviewed Andy Lee, Emmanuel Steward, and Wladimir and had a blast. I watched him spar with a couple KRONK guys, hit the bags, and interact with the fans. In this one pic my GF took of me interviewing Wladimir, he almost look amused at my small stature. He probably thought I was a little kid.
My favorite part was having Joey Gamache show me a few moves and talking boxing history and technique with him. Gamache is one of the nicest people you'd ever meet in boxing. I have a full article coming out soon, so stay tuned to BoxingScene.com for this story and more.
...Now your getting somewhere. Steward and Wlady, it doesn't get much better than that.Comment

Why, because I have opinions? If I didn't have opinions, I wouldn't be writing. My impressions of Wladimir are such that I believe him to be the kind of fortified human being that he can accept another human's critique.Comment

He was in remarkable shape, he always is really. I was surprised because he looks so small compared to Jameel McCline and Hasim Rahman, who are the biggest heavyweights I've ever seen. Wladimir looked incredibly sharp and it was clear that he was focusing on cutting off the ring and pushing his man to the ropes with the jab.
...This surprises me because I have heard that Wlad looks absolutely massive in person. Rahman has always been pudgy to say the least but I have never thought of him as being a particularly big guy.Comment
