I must admitt I haven't seen much of him. So how good was he? Capable of beating Jones?
How good was Dariusz Michalczewski?

He was a strong lightheavyweight whose best punch was a very hard jab. His chin was a little spotty at times, but he was very tough in his prime. Roy would have beaten him, but he still should have fought him. The comparison to Glen Johnson is valid IMO.Comment

Dariusz Michalczewski was the linear light heavyweight champion who unified the light heavyweight titles (WBA, IBF & WBO) by beating Virgil Hill and then dropped them. Roy Jones picked them up but never fought Dariusz.
Most people RJJ beat were also beaten by Michalczewski but they never got to fight each other, probably because Roy didn't want to go to Germany and Michalczewski didn't want to come to the US.
Hard to blame either but while Michalczewski was the 'real' champion, Roy was by far the bigger name. Dariusz could've really proven himself.
When Michalczewski finally lost, he was in his late 30's like Roy.
Short HL of "The Tiger".
I don't think he was capable of beating Roy but we will never know because they never fought.Comment
