Why didn't Calzaghe fight Glen Johnson?

Seems like a logical matchup... did it ever happen?

This fight was signed twice, on two different occasions (once in 2003 and once in 2006) and both times Cal suffered injuries that put the kibosh on it in camp.

It worked out better for Cal and boxing fans that the last one was canceled, because he stayed at 168 long enough to unify the division and beat a guy who so many people thought was better in Kessler.

Cal-Glen Johnson was going to be his HBO debut in 2006 but Cal got hurt in training. Then the Bika fight happened instead.
