nah, pbf is much to smart of a fighter to get reckless/careless to get in a brawl! the best cotto could hope for is to be effective enough to penetrate, and land thus causing pbf to have to bring the fight to a more offensive area where he is not able to dictate the fight as well allowing cotto more opportunities to trade! i think if floyd was forced to be more offensive we could see pbf hit more, as he is less defensively minded due to the fact that he must return offense, and be a bit susceptible to the left hook and body shots! sounds good, but the reality favors floyd!

I think the question is, will Cotto TRY to brawl with Mayweather? Cotto isnt JUST a brawler as he should against Mosley.

Cotto has a good, powerful jab but his reach is quite short, he needs to use his timing VERY well if he plans on beating Mayweather to the punch.

Cotto should work on his head movement and defence to get inside like Castillo did, if he rushes in like Hatton he will take shots and Mayweather will rack up points and cut Cotto's face.

Cotto would have to be at his best and Mayweather would have to be a bit below his standards.

That's the only way I can see Cotto win this fight but Cotto isn't a one-dimensional brawler, he can box, just not as good as Mayweather. Making it a brawl is Cotto's best chance, not sure if he can pull it off though.

Hopefully we will see Cotto against contenders like Margarito and Williams, those fights will prove a lot.
Margarito is a bigger brawler and Cotto would probably be forced to box, against Williams he would be forced to get inside Paul's huge reach and brawl.

I think its a possiblity because of his size advantage. Cotto will try to walk him down and land big shots. Floyd will move and pick his spots but Cotto will eventually start having some success in getting to Floyd and then money will have to make a decision. I dont think we'll see a Cotto-Torres type brawl but I believe that Cotto could put Floyd into a position where he has to fight back alot if he wants to win. Also, I think Floyd may get to the point where he will want to brawl. The moving will stop working and he will see that when he does stand & trade then he can land some good shots that easily gets' through Cotto's D and has some surprisng impact on him. Then I really do believe you could see Floyd start going all out by going toe to toe with alot of blazing combos that will seal the deal and everyone on this board and in the media will finally have to pay him the ultimate respect as one of the best of all time
