IF he's landing punches, and I think he will, , he's going to have to fight back. It would be a hard fight for him, a real fight for him and he's just not interested in that.
Who thinks Cotto can drag Mayweather into a brawl?

He won't brawl, but he's going to have to do something once Cotto traps him and starts beating him up like he did Malinaggi. Floyd's great at adapting and I'm curious as to how he'll adapt to Cotto's bullying style. I know Cotto and his uncle would work on keeping composure, most fighters lose their composure against Floyd or get plain out frustrated. I've never seen Cotto this way and that's why I think he's got a good chance of winningComment

He looked pretty ****ing frustrated against Urkal, but that was because of fouls... still, it might be a telling sign of what he would do if nothing was going his way in the future. He won't brawl, but he's going to have to do something once Cotto traps him and starts beating him up like he did Malinaggi. Man, I am so sick and tired of all this "Mayweather is fighting giants" bs. Floyd is taller than most of the opponents he has faced and has much longer arm reach than anyone he has faced. He has packed on a lot of muscle since his 130 days and is a lot leaner than most other fighters due to the fact that he doesn't blow up between fights.
If he's not going to face the best at 147, like Cotto, Williams, Cintron, Margarito, etc, he might as well go back to 140 or even 135, though I seriously doubt he could still make LW at this stage.
As for the thread, I think one good punch to the balls, and Floyd might be dragged into a brawl, at least temporarily.Comment

Well that may be true, but Cotto really is a pretty big WW.Man, I am so sick and tired of all this "Mayweather is fighting giants" bs. But the strength advantage is the important part of not wanting to get ****** into a brawl... that's the only reason that he said he wouldn't want to brawl because of Cotto's size.Comment

Doubt it that Mayweather is induced to brawl. He's a smart fighter and usually fights his fight. He'll probably pot shot in the early rounds and once and if Cotto gets tired he'll throw more combinations.Comment

Difficult question because Floyd clearly wouldn't want to, but if he got hurt then I think he would brawl. While that would be playing into Cotto's hand, I think Floyd would surprise people with just how well he does, just like he surprised people with how well he handled Hatton on the inside early in their fight. So my point is that Floyd would box, but IMO if he needed to he would brawl before he would run. Whether he could win in a brawl with Cotto remains to be seen.Comment
