There should be no argument that Hatton (a very good light Welterweight) would loose to Floyd (one of the best ever Welters) no matter who the referee was and where the fight took place. Its no disgrace to loose going up a division.

The only valid argument is 'did Hatton's mistakes (partially brought on by the reffing) contribute to him getting TKO'd rather than going the distance'. On that basis, yes, if he had kept his head he may well have gone the 12, BUT he would have lost by a clear UD.

The only way Hatton could have won was by changing his name to Richard Von Ottke, growing an earwig moustache and fighting in Germany, with a fat Belgian referee who was given the sole duty of calling all of Floyd's punches illegal and any knockdowns, slips

hatton is unprepared to counter the elbow tactics of ugly boy floyd, had he prepared for it, the ugly boy would have become the ugliest boy! hopefully, calzaghe will learn the lesson from ricky.

Hatton made no "mistake". He simply wasn't good enough to beat Floyd.

Exactly. Sure he did make tactical errors, but it would have mattered in the long run. Floyd was too good and too big for Ricky. A class above. He actually did better then I expected against Floyd. I like Calzaghe, but he needs to knock off the "Im not gonna be like Hatton!" and the "Im gonna win for my country to make up for the Hatton fight!" It's two completely different fights and situations. Let this fight speak for its self.

You know what I'd like to see? I'd like to see Joe wear all white on fight night. I mean everything, shoes, laces, socks, pants, gloves, and even down to his cup and his mouth protector.

Maybe that will teach Hopkins to be racist (after he gets beat by Joe wearing all white).
