I agree, although I don't think he will win it nearly as easily as most people think. Don't forget that Calzaghe isn't exactly a spring chicken either and didn't look as good as he has in the past against Kessler. Hopkins has been fighting for a long time and has come up against every type of opponent possible. He still has many things in his bag of tricks to keep it interesting. Don't count him out yet.

What I would like to see happen is if Calzaghe beats Hopkins for him to then fight Jones and hopefully win that. It would give him some names on his resume and would probably get him the recognition he deserves. Like it or not, Calzaghe is a damn good fighter who happened to make bad decisions, or more to the point, get them made for him by a ****** money hungry promoter. He deserves his accolades.

Exactly, I mean he showed in the Collazo fight that he can't fight with that grunting pressure style for 12 without looking like he wants to tip over late in a fight.

in the context of what joe was saying he means is that he wont let the hype and B-Hop insults get to him as apparently Hatton let mayweather's insults get to him, so what joe is saying is he won't make that mistake, he isn't talking about the fighting in the ring, i don't think the insults had anything to do with it though, and i'm not going to make excuses for one of my favorite fighters, Mayweather is just good.

Dude, how could you give the first round to Ricky Hatton? There's no way he won that round.

Ricky Hatton NEEEDED the hype. If he had no hype and didn't run at Mayweather, and tried to box, he would've lasted maybe 4-5 rounds.

the thing is, hatton come to fight unprepared... psychologically. the psy-war goes to ugly boy floyd. ricky was unprepared to counter the dirty tactics (elbow) of ugly boy floyd, eventually losing his composure and let his emotion run over him. he should have prepared all kinds of defenses he knew like using elbow or even low-blows just to counter ugly boy floyd's tactics but he did not. giving his back to the blind joe cortez did not help. his emotion cost him his defeat... the ugly defeat... hopefully calzaghe learn the lesson from ricky... go joe, knock hopkins out and sent him into retirement!
