Mayweather decisioned De La Hoya at a weight Mayweather should have never been at.

Mayweather would have to win a decision against 140 pound De La Hoya to win though I think. Oscar is too tough.

That's a pretty tough argument to make. Usually the best of an era (De La Hoya, Mosley, Vargas, Trinidad were last era) do fade, but not so that they can't effectively fight still. This is why the new era's best always has a close fight (but usually a win) over the last era's best.

I'm not sure if a prime De La Hoya would beat Mayweather. I'm not sure if a prime Mosley beats Miguel Cotto... It's tough argument to make, and I think you are making it harder by saying that Oscar knocks the **** out of Floyd.
Yeah good point. I overstated the issue a little bit.

Man did you ever really see Oscar in his prime? i doubt it.. He would've beaten Floyd, dont matter how delusional you guys are with Floyd beating everyone in the world... Obviously he hasn't even fought anyone near of what Oscar has faced.

Read above when I said that great champions from the era before always fade, but not enough that they can't put up a competitive fight against the new era's best. Don't kid yourself that Oscar would beat Floyd down.

That being said, it wasn't even close to taking Oscar out of the fight.

On fight night, I didn't think Floyd hurt Oscar very much at all.
