I am surprised that this is even being debated.

Ranking of WW with a belt in terms of money they make (for themselves and opponents).

      1. Mayweather

      2. Cotto

      3. Cintron/Williams

      Let's see what happens

number 3 (both) call out number 2
number 2 calls out number 1

Number 1 is making more money by fighting the promoter in drag.

So, what do you think is driving ALL these fighters? legacy? LOL

I read stuff like "Cotto is a real throwback fighter", "Margarito is a warrior" BULL****. They all want to make the most money they can, just like Mayweather, just like all of you hypocrites. Just like anyone with a brain would do.

Seriously, it's not like these fighters are choosing money over the lives of innocent people or something like that.

Who the **** would pick legacy over 30 million dollars. What is legacy going to do for you in 30 years? Admiration from a few keyboard warriors, after you spent your life in a sport which leaves people brain damaged? Thanks, I will take the 30 millions.
And anyone who says otherwise is exactly that, a keyboard warrior.

His legacy is already defined. Floyd's best weight is not 147. He doesn't have the power and speed combination he had at lower weights. Winning now just strengthens his legacy. He should fight Cotto or Paul Williams though.

Didn't you know he's a robot? He's not able to make decisions on his own, his promoter is the one making the hard or easy fights.

Cotto leaves his career in the hands of top professionals . He's an undefeated millionaire so it's not like he's been getting bad advice.

No, I am saying that I find ridiculous that anyone is surprised or pissed at Mayweather choosing to fight Oscar instead of Cotto, or Cotto not fighting the other champs, but choosing Gomez instead.

These people are human, and they have futures, where money is going to mean more than "legacy". It's childish and pathetic to overlook this very simple fact.

the problem is when floy "retires" when the safe option of oscar or whomever (hatton), is not available. floy opts to retire or go hiatus rather than face who the public demands - MIGUEL COTTO

fear/hesitation/reluctance could not be any more obvious

Roy is GREAT when he has something to prove

When Roy is hungry and motivated and threatened, he is at his best.

For a whle there he was complacent and had notting to prove. Now again, after the KO losses he has something to prove. and he is doing it. He is, against all odds at 39, somehow again at his best. He is still GREAT at 39
