I say gorrez wins this one by a easy ud or a ko in less than 7.But the fight could be over in a flash if gorrez is hit by darch very telegraphed punches.But overall Z Gorrez shouldn't have much trouble with darch.Also you don't always have to win by ko in the Philippines look what happened to Gorrez vs Montiel, I thought Gorrez won that fight even with the knock down by Montiel.

Exactly. Foreign Boxers don't get robbed in the Philippines.
In fact it's the other way around, , for example Gorres vs Montiel.Anyone who have seen that fight without them bias sunglasses on knows that Gorres clearly won that fight.
Darchi is right though,he needs a KO to win.
He can't outbox Gorres.

Darchinyan was exposed by Donaire. Anyone that gets beat by him now has no excuses other than they weren't good enough. I was waiting for a long time for someone to take advantage of his ragged style. If Gorres is the contender he is supposed to be he'll win handily.

He does need a KO, but it doesn't matter anymore. He's already been exposed.

The more I look at the match, the less I am convinced that the fight can go the distance with Gorres winning by decision.

As far as I can recall, Gorres has fought only two southpaws in the past, one a Thai and the other a Filipino. He TKO'd the Thai, but was KO'd by the Filipino (Gorres went to the canvass three times in different rounds, as I recall.) The Thai that he beat had a poor KO record and was two inches shorter than he is, the Filipino, just as tall as Gorres.

Darchinyan is taller than Gorres by one and a half inches and packs one of the meanest artillery in the division.

Gorres may win the early rounds, but I am afraid that Darchinyan will in time get to him and hurt him bad. There are going to be 12 rounds in the fight, that's a lot of time for Darchinyan to get in a lethal one, which, I think, is all he needs.

Gorres' chin is not exactly made of the same stuff as Chuvalo's. Although he has an above average defense, Gorres is no Pep. He can't avoid bombs dropped on him for 12 rounds. And he does not have the punch to discourage Darchinyan's assault.

Just the same, if Gorres proves me wrong, I'll be happy for him.

Funny of all boxers it was Gorrres whom he will tag as doing dirty tactics. Z is one of the cleanest fighters Ive seen, and even on his own backyard, while Montiel is rough housing him, he wouldnt resort to those dirty tactics. Vic is just making an excuse for himself this early.

If Z Gorres energy level can reach round 14, without a doubt he will win this fight... Against Montiel during the championship rounds, Gorres fights with empty tank~~~ Stamina is the key for Gorres to Win...

This is a good fight, Gorres is very clever, he can hold his ground without backpeddaling!!! I'd like to see him fight a little aggresively if there's openings though, not just wait to counter.

I see Vic's strategy is to slug it out, bulldooze his way in...
