Is the world coming to an end? I can't believe Joke Calzaghe is leaving the UK AND leaving super middleweight. I wonder if he would have taken this fight if Hopkins was 10 years younger.

He's a lot closer to his peak than Hopkins and closer to his prime weight.

Well since 10 years ago Hopkins was a virtual unknown, probably not.

ALL of Hopkins big wins, Trinidad, DLH, Tarver, Wright, have ALL come after he turned 36.

Nice try though, better luck next time.

My point is that Hopkins is way past his prime and has been for years. The guy has very little mobility and stamina at this point. Calzaghe is known for ducking any real challenge, so I doubt he would have fought Hopkins when he was around his prime.

well he would have had a challenge if he hadn't backed out 6 years ago, he decided there was more money in fighting midgets.

Bernard Hopkins is ranked #1 p4p by BoxRec and #4 p4p by the Ring Magazine, higher than Calzaghe. What does that tell us about how past prime he is?
