Oscar De La Hoya-Steve Forbes Not Done Yet

Contrary to other reports, Jeff Wald, promoter of Steve Forbes, informed BoxingScene.com that a proposed fight with Oscar De La Hoya was "not done yet." Forbes is the frontrunner to face De La Hoya at a catch-weight of 150-pounds on May 3 [details]

Forbes is a tune up, nothing more, he's not supposed to be there to be risky, he's just there to make DLH look good to make fans interested in the Mayweather rematch.

I really dont mind 'showcase' type fights every once in a while, but this **** better not be ppv. once upon a time De La Hoya said he wanted to fight on ESPN, THIS is when you outta do it De La Hoya! stop slacking off, perfect opportunity!

and Forbes isnt even a 'showcase' type fighter. hes probebly going to be slick and annoying, because he hes experienced. He should have fought Gomez or some guy at 154 that he could have used as more or less a punching bag.

Please tell me how one of the biggest and slowest welterweights prepares Oscar for Floyd's speed, reflexes, and defense?

One thing thats great to see is that Oscar is making this fight at 150. If he looks good then he should go down to WW to fight Floyd. If he can get to 150 then he can definatly get to WW in his next fight. That would make the rematch a much better fight

my understanding is oscar is gonna try to make the 147lbs mark by september i believe that's the reason for the tune-up maybe at a catch weight of 150lbs by september he will be good to go
