Kermit Cintron: "Gomez Does Not Deserve Cotto"

According to IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron, Contender star Alfonso Gomez has done nothing to deserve a fight with WBA champion Miguel Cotto. Cintron feels that he should be the fighter who takes on Cotto. Cotto is scheduled to fight Gomez on April 12 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Cintron is targeting a ring return for late April or early May. [details]

Yeah.. Kermit has beaten.. NO BIG NAME. Atleast Gomez has a FADED big name and a decent contender. Kermit was getting his ass kicked by a guy that Gomez has already beaten.

      The **** is Cintron smoking?

I kinda agree with Cintron. Let Cintron fight Cotto. Get 2 of the 4 Welterweight belts in one person's hands.

People are talkin about Gomez being a problem for Cotto. LMAO...cause he KO'd a beatun up Arturo Gatti? Max Kellerman could've beaten Gatti that night.

Let Gomez fight Corley, Clottey, or Chavez Jr. Maybe even Zab Judah.

If I were Gomez's team, I wouldn't put him against Cotto just yet. That could set him back a min takin a nasty "L"

I'd much rather see cotto vs cintron as well, but cintron has little right to talk the smack he is.

While I agree that Gomez has done little to deserve this shot, I also don't think it is as bad a matchup as people make it out to be.Gomez is a tough customer and has fought bigger men than Cotto.

Don't get me wrong, I think Cintron/Cotto is a better fight. That ahs nothing to do with deserving it. What has Cintron done though? Thats the question.

In his ONLY step up, he lost to Margarito. That's his career, at this point.

I think gomez vs cotto will be an entertaining fight, but in gomez last fight, he seemed to struggle a little against tackie. Im choosing cotto by tko.
