Ellerbe: "De La Hoya Can't Win The Rematch"

It wouldn't matter how many tunes-up bouts took place, Leonard Ellerbe, close friend and adviser to Floyd Mayweather Jr., says Oscar De La Hoya (38-5, 30KOs) will not win a rematch. To prepare for the September rematch, De La Hoya plans to stage a tune-up bout in May. [details]

Right... That'll look silly when Floyd takes a dive in this fight.

Just another handpicked opponent right Lenny? Another opponent that can't beat floy right Lenny?

The pattern of handpicking opposition continues. the fraud will defraud the public out of their hardearned pesos with another 'fight' where everyone alreayd knows the outcome.

Lenny, Shut up, put yo knee pads away, and start explaining to us why floy is "not interested" in fighting his #1 contender, the "punching bag" MIGUEL COTTO

Wouldn't it be better for the sport of boxing if Oscar fought Margarito and Mayweather fought Cotto and the winners squared off after that? It makes sense for everyone and the sport itself. Right now Oscar and Floyd are the two main PPV draws and Pac coming in third I guess. And sometime Oscar and Floyd are gonna retire and there will be no "face" for the sport but if Oscar and Floyd let Cotto and Margarito get into the limelight it would open up so many more doors and could be that surge that boxing is looking for!!!! Just makes more sense for the big time PPV draws to bring other fighters up to there $$$$ level or success or however you look at it!!!!

That's a tough question I ain't trying to leave dude out but DAMN who in there right mind wants to fight him at WW!!!! I think Paul Williams is a bad dude in the ring but he already has a fight lined up and I think he is better off moving up in weight!!!! The only person I want to see fight Paul is a rematch with Margarito and go from there, but I would rather see Margartio/DLH and Mayweather/Cotto. Then maybe Williams beats Quintana then fights Cintron then the winner of the litttle WW tourny style DLH/Marg and Mayweather/Cotto winner!!!!

All the real boxing fans already knew DLH had no shot. He is a promoter and a businessman. He gave up fighting years ago.

Floyd is a grown man and a champion if he wants to fight Cotto he can, lets not blame this all on DLH!!!! Money Mayweather could lose his Money Hunger and let other fighters get into the spotlight not only would this add to his legacy it would benefit boxing by getting these other lesser known stars some shine!!!!
