    Joe Calzaghe

How can anyone dislike this guy.

He is great, but there's still people that despise him.

What does he have to do to gain people's respect.

I can't believe only recently in the UK he's been getting the respect he deserves.

That is a really good video, i just can't wait for the fight to finally be formally announced so I can try my luck at getting a ticket, always wanted to go to Vegas to see a fight.

I feel your frustration, but there will always be people in denial of his talent, normally the usual suspects. When your favourite fighter is beaten, its hard to be a man and say 'the other guy was better' its much easier to say he had a bad night, it was a lucky punch, etc, etc. It may well take Kessler running through SMW and LH when Joe has retired to put his ability into perspective. Personally, I think he should fight the winner of Pavlik / Taylor and then take on Chad Dawson they are the real players one divison north and south of him. Perhaps he could then fight Roy as a farewell fight (I know that's a fight more than he planned, but what a way to go out and with some serious cah)

Finished his autobiography a while back, when reading that you see what a down to earth guy he is, all the trouble he's had with injuries and still boxed through it on those more sedate nights against, Thornberry and Ashira etc.

A true British world champion, up there with the best we've ever had at ANY sport and I look forward to seeing him against B-hop.

Joe who??...ohhh,Calzaghe....yeah,I saw him beat up Lacy, impressive performance. Then I saw him beat up that game show loser...other than that I can't say much about him.

The Hopkins fight is one I wish had taken place five years ago, that would have been a more accurate meter of Calzaghe's place in history.
I,like most of Americans, feel he is still a mystery man...

Because he's actually an extremely arrogant prick, one of the most arrogant i've ever heard. And you guys can't say that the personality doesn't matter because this is exactly the reason you guys dislike Mayweather and Hopkins. That and a few other things is why he has a some haters(I aint one btw).

And he's in a position where he can't win everybody's respect.

Well your missing you if you only ever watch him fight american fighters. We all know why the fight didn't happen 5 years ago.

I certainly don't know why the fight never happened.I assume because he did not want to fight over here, and Hopkins didn't want to fight over there...and we as fans lost.

And how can I watch him fight non-American fighters if it is not televised here.

And despite what Europeans think, despite the lack of interest in this country about boxing...Las Vegas and to a certain extent,Madison Square Garden is the world capital of boxing.
Therefore to be a true world champion, one must fight there.

So,not to demean Calzaghe's career...but something is missing.

Brother Blues, the fight was agreed and Hopkins doubled the money at last minute to price himself out of the fight. This is FACT.

He knew he'd get beat then and he'll get beat now
