I didnt know p4p had to do with what weight you faught out? Isnt that the point of p4p? P4p at 140 is no different than p4p at 147. Ricky hatton was simply was p4p ranked when floyd faught him.

I feel what both of you are saying. I simply believe that floyd exposed the true p4p meaning and hattons ranking. P4P to me means how you would rank throughout all of boxing and p4p also means hwo you will do at different weight classes. A p4p fighter ought to be able to do this. Hatton was unable to, although he isnt at bad 147 fighter, floyd is just floyd.

I don't think the weight made a difference for a guy as small as Mayweather. If Mayweather did drain down to make 147, then it might have, but I he fights at the same weight that Hatton went up to on fight night for his 140 fights anyway.

That's another reason why the 147 limit didn't really matter.

Floyd dictated that by the way, which doesn't make sense to me. I guess he didn't want to lose his status at 147, and could say that he defended his title at 147 vs. Hatton.
