you know it's funny, i also respect the posts crillz makes and a few other posters who post things about floyd in a negative manner, although i'm not saying crillz does this, but the only problem i have with this whole floyd thing is that everytime somebody claims that floyd's opponent has the best shot at beating him, whether it was hatton, or oscar, which many people did claim, they say, if floyd wins, then they will give him his props or credit, however you choose to word it, but that horn always plays the same tune, and they turn the victory that was supposed to get praised by them into a bashing discredit for floyd. all of a sudden, that supposed credit they were suppose to give floyd is thrwon right back into his face like it was nothing to being with, and then they go and lie and make excuses that they knew such and such would lose against him, and he should have been fighting kosta, or mosley, or cotto, who is the next fighter floyd has to fight, but then, fighters like paul williams who many feel would beat floyd and cotto, loses to quitana, the fighter who lost to cotto, now williams is out of the mix, and floyd is left with cotto. so, what happens if cotto loses to gomez or margarito, and this is the margarito that floyd ducked openly to people on here, then he needs to fight margarito. now, if all of this occurs, and floyd fights cotto instead of tony, the fighter who you people want him to fight the most, and the fighter who paul williams lost to, then floyd is ducking tony again, and fighting a guy who lost to him. i know all of this seems a little over the top, but let's be honst people, you guys think like this, and it's been proven in many of your posts. so, with all of that noted, my point is that floyd will never get the respect he properly deserves.
now, many of you claim that floyd has fought bums and people out of their primes. okay, but with the people he should have fought like mosley, kosta, cassamayor, freites, even moralles, and barrera and hamed, who di dthey fight to be their status? did they not show off their skillset to fighters of less caliuber to them to get where they are. yes, mosley fought winky, oscar, forrest, and other good fighters who got their spot by showing off their talents against subpar competiton also. winky wright bullied trinidad, and bullied shane to get where he is, and went to a draw against taylor, who many people said was overrated and lost to hopkins in their fight. mosley fought oscar twice and, and lost bad against forrest, who lost twice against mayorga, who lost to oscar by knockout and trinidad, who oscar fought and ran from in the later rounds on route to a lost, and oscar fought whitake, past his prime, and many people felt as if he lost to pernell, who was coked out. pernell also lost to trinidad, way past his prime. many people felt oscar lost to ike, who lost to wright, when ike was past his prime. margarito just knocked out golen johnson, who you people claimed was a bum, lost to williams, and lost to santos. floyd fought oscar at 154, the highest weight class for him ever, to a guy who called all of the shots, because of his name, because of his looks, because of his will to fight anybody right? i mean, he beat vargas in a great fight, a vargas, who lost to mayorga, mosley twice, but beat winky wright, and vargas fought the bets in his divisions he fought at all the time? i think not. so, floyd ducked all of these fighters like hamed, who floyd called out, casamayor, freitez, kosta, who was past his prime when he fought hatton, but floyd ducked him, and he called kosta out, destroyed gatti, dominated hatton, who dominated kosta, who beat a past his prime roger mayweather, but floyd should have fought him. now, floyd calls out oscar floyd's whole career, and unlike margarito who decided to call floyd out after the fight with oscar was made, and a much tougher fight for floyd, seeing how huge oscar was to him, seeing how floyd couldn't even make it all the way to 154, seeing how oscar was 2-2 in his last 4 fights, and only fought part time, but gave floyd to may people his toughest and closest fight since castillo, but since floyd played around with oscar all of a sudden, the oscar fight means nothing.
now, floyd called out hatton in 2005, but hatton wasn't ready, just like mosley wasn't ready for him in 2005 and 2006, so floyd fought zab and baldomir, because he was shut down by mosley and oscar, who floyd callled out at 130, 135, 140, and 147, but they opted not to fight him. floyd gets criticized for fighting bums like gatti, and baldomir even though thye were champions and carlos hadn't lost in 8 years, beats a good fighter in judah, but is so slow, so he's a bum, even though he beat a bigger, faster handed, more powerful fighter in judah, but since he was so slow, he was a bum. floyd needs more credit than that he recieves. cotto, beats molsey, past his prime, never call out floyd until floyd signs to fight hatton. had a chance to fight floyd in 2005, just like hatton, just like kosta, just like oscar and mosley and winky who floyd called out, and who many of you feel , is too big for floyd, but floyd doesn't take risks? come on people, open your eyes. floyd has called all of these guys out and insulted cotto in training, media open workout training people, and cotto still didn't call him out. people claim floyd should have fought vivian harris, a guy who i give props to, who insulted the **** out of floyd at the gatti/mayweather press conference, but then goes to lose to carlos maussa, a guy who cotto knocked out, and cotto beat paulie in a 12 round decision, a paulie who rocked him, and although paulie had his jaw broken, he put up a great fight, but paulie fought a powerful guy in cotto who was bigger than him, but when floyd fights hatton at 147, a hatton, who was bigger than floyd naturally, floyd gets cussed for it, while cotto gets praised. cotto moves up to 147, fights quitana, urango, judah, and mosley. besides, quitana, what about cotto's resume makes it better than floyd's? cotto fought an out of his prime mosley in a close fight, just like floyd fought an out of his prime de la hoya(even though oscar in his prime had fights that were looked at as controsversial, so would he have really given floyd that much problems? i thnk not). cotto fought some of th esame fighters floyd fought, but i rarely see him bashed for his competition. he fought a judah, who was out for a year+, and judah took him 11 rounds. he fought urango, who many people don't even know, and urango gave him a run. he dominated a guy like quitama, who beat paul williams, so this is his claim to fame. now, all of a sudden, floyd should fight him, or else, floyd means nothing. you people make me laugh. wake up people.
nobody seems to remember fighters like angel manfredy who floyd tkoed in the 2nd round or tony pep, who was suppose to give floyd many problems due to his tall body, an dlong arms, ala paul williams, and his boxing ability. floyd isn't the same fighter as he was at the lower weigt classes, no fighter stays the same, they get either wiser with age, and fighter smarter, or they die down with age and start to lose more. floyd is 31 years old, and hasn't lost, although many people feel he lost to castillo and some even feel he lost to oscar in their fight. i think otherwise.
my point in all this is that floyd is the best, and has been since 1997 imo, but that's just me. and you don't become p4p champion by being a coward, and a ducker, and etc. roy jones, mosley, oscar, whitaker, leonard were all p4p champions, kust like robinson was, so that title is really prestigious, and to many people, that title is more important than championships. floyd has been the champion p4p since he beat gatti and hopkins lost to taylor. every great fighter wants this title, yes, hopkins, toney, mosley, roy jones, leonard, whitaker, etc, they all hold that title very high, and i've seen posts calling it useless. you people really need to open your eyes. floyd is the best, the most gifted fighter of his generation, yes, more gifted than roy jones, and better skilled than a mosley, de la hoya, hopkins, toney, etc. floyd is the best, and his resume proves it.
