I think Margarito is a bad match up for Cotto

I think its a fantastic matchup that would produce a FOTY candidate, but id have to pick Cotto by UD, possibly late round KO depending on the pace of the fight.

I also think Margarito is a bad style match up for Cotto,everyone has an opponent that is a bad match up for them,and Margarito is exacly that for Cotto,but i think Cotto could win,behind the jab and the left hooks to the body,he would have to stay inside,not to mention Margarito is VERY slow,and Cotto had good head movements against Judah and Mosley when they where throwing combos,especially Judah,Cotto showed hes got good head and body movement

The problem is,Cotto cant throw a punch and move in,Margarito throws deadly uppercuts,Cotto keeps his head and chin down,if Tony connects he could stun Cotto,and Margarito is a good finished,not to mention hes got great stamina,if Cotto is agressive effectivly,he would win

I think Margarito's uppercut could be a big danger to Cotto. That being said, I think Cotto is the more polished fighter. I'm just hoping the fight happens.

I could definately see Cotto getting KO'd from an uppercut. The one zab landed had him in lala land for a couple of seconds

Exactly, I really can't imagine why people would think this fight will go the distance, the bloodbath will end in 9 or maybe 10 rounds TOPS. The fight could go either way, I like both fighters but I'm gonna go with my boy Tony, Cotto is gonna be nailed by those uppercuts and looping hooks, mark my word.

I'd say Margarito is a tough fight for Cotto since Margarito is taller and takes a better punch, two big advantages when fighting Cotto.

cotto is good but margarito is too much for him at this point....i like both fighters but not to face each other, they are both brawlers, it's gonna be painful to watch

I also want to add that I think Margarito sucks and gets dominated by a good boxer. I don't know if Cotto is a good boxer. Against Mosley he sure looked it.

I think Cotto beats Margo by decicison. Cotto can slug it out with the best of 'em and is a very good boxer. I think he will be able to outbox Margo in a very entertaining fight.

He can box,back in the day Cotto was a very good boxer,and was fast,watch the Maussa fight,he puts on a boxing clinic,i dont think Maussa won 1 second of the fight,Cotto boxed great that night,now hes more of a brawler - with very good intelligent pressure
