How Much Credit Do You Give Roy?

lol you do know that roy wasnt guarenteed a penny. Tito was guarenteed 15 million and rj has to wait on the ppv results to get a dime. He may make a few million at most and im talking about 2 or 3. I bought the ppv as I know a few others that did but based on most peoples oppinions they werent interested in this fight. So I dont think it was for money, actually I know it wasnt, at least not for roy. The man has accomplished a ton in his career, I think he deserves a right to showcase his skills. They gave holyfield many chances, they gave tyson many chances, they gave foreman many chances, hopkins lost twice and he came back to fight twice on ppv.........Its a reoccuring theme in boxing. The fighters that deserve it and work hard to get it, usually get it. Roy Jones was off hbo for 2 years, fighting against guys with a total record of 50 something and 2. He paid the fighters out of his own pocket and made very little if any. He came back because tito called him out and he beat trinidad. He won........It was a good fight........Whats the point of be interested in boxing at all, if you simply cant say, what a good fight.

He won........It was a good fight........Whats the point of be interested in boxing at all, if you simply cant say, what a good fight.

it was a good fight, but not a great fight by any stretch

i just dont think it adds to his legacy and i dont think it deservers any more credit or earns him any more respect than his last two wins did

I'll give Roy a little credit. I thought he should have let his hands go and Tito would have went down. But that could just be wishfull thinking on my part.

Now that Roy has won, he should have some fans jumping back on his bandwagon after they hated him last week.

Ill say this...Tito was about the same size as Jones in height and even had an inch over him in arm length (a surprise to me) and looked like he was filled in for 170lbs. he also looked actually much better, especially the first two rounds, than he did against Bernard and Winky. much more active.

also keep in mind before Tito's losses, he was regarded extremely highly. I mean...Bernard and Winky both got thrown to the top of the p4p lists with wins over Tito. I certainly dont think Roy should be thrown to the top of p4p lists with this win, not even close...but its something to think about.

I thought his performance was impressive considering what hes been through+his age.
