He did what he had to do. The fight was more exciting than tito vs bhop or winky. He showed he still had some fight in him. He didnt get hurt, he won decisivly. He never goes for the ko and the crowd cheered after the fight and never booed once. Great performance, I give him as much credit as bhop and winky.
How Much Credit Do You Give Roy?

I give him some credit. For a 39 year old man to throw crisp triple left hooks, get totally worked to his body, show no fatigue, and put on a show all at the same time. He can get some credit.Comment

You'd think so. I dont think it mattered who rj was fighting that night. The fact that he was able to look somewhat like his old self. Thats more or less what he wanted. To be able to watch himself on tv again and be like, yeah, I remember that guy. Personally I think he would of outpointed tarver or johnson had they been in the ring with him that night. Tito was punching with alot of power and quite a bit of speed, Jones finally holds his hands up though.Comment

ill give him props for fleecing america and having so many alleged boxing fans happily coming along for the ride. jones has always been a shrewd matchmaker and this was one of his greatest matchmaking accomplishments.
.
i cant believe "fans" are actually posting on here in a positive light about how jones "doesent like to knock his opponents out" thats downright idiotic
ill tell you one thing, glen johnson, chad dawson, joe calzaghe, bernard hopkins, mikkel kessler, kelly pavlik and lucian bute would all have stopped tito in one sided affairs.... so why exactly does jones deserve more than a tiny bit of credit for his victoryComment

Jones has the ability to kill someone if he had to. After seeing what nigel benn did to his buddy gerald McClelan. Jones vowed to never try to do that. After Jones destroyed Griffin in the rematch, he vowed to never do that again. Its not idiotic at all. I would of liked for him to finish tito off which I believe he could of easily seeing how he hits harder than bhop but the knockdowns and the UD was enough for me. Just to watch one of the greatest athletes to bless this earth again on hbo ppv was enough for me. If you dont like it, dont watch, dont comment, just leave it alone. I dont care, rj fans done care, rj himself dont care. Your entitled to your oppinion.Comment

the physical size difference alone is reason enough to discount the victory.
jones is a good 25 pounds bigger than tito any way you cut it.
how much credit would kelly pavlik get for beating ricky hatton at a 155 pound catchweight?
how much credit would floyd mayweather get for beating juan manuel marquez at a 144 pound catchweight?
how much credit would david haye get for beating joe calzaghe at a 193 pound catchweight?
how much credit would mikkel kessler get for beating miguel cotto at a 162 pound catchweight?Comment

No fighter you listed is out of their primes like tito or jones. I see your point, and its a good one but this is a fight the world wanted to see 5 years ago. This is also a fight that would of been talked about like a fantasy matchup had it never happened. Well now its happened and we all knwo who would of won now. I think thats the reason. IMO tito had no busienss fighting at 160, but he was what 3 -2 at 160. Cherifi, Mayorga and Joppy? That aint bad? Tito was a great fighter and had a p4p punch. He's a good name on a resume and we got a good fight. Gatti ward wasnt for a belt........Comment

sorry i dont like the fact that he is trying to land a big money career ending loss by fighting a mismatch disguised as a fair fight
its not really my opinion as much as it is a fact
not many guys who havent won a meaningful fight in over 4 years can con their way onto HBO PPV, i applaud his skills as a businessmanComment
