Sounds like Ali's 'rope a dope.'

Thats exactly what I was thinking. Jones still has the same style that gets him KTFO and Tito still has to set up after getting hit with straight punches. Both guys will not accomplish much if they fight current top opposition, their best days have left them

I think Jones' body has finally recovered from losing all the muscle mass and thus I think his punch resistance has greatly improved as well. Jones is a genius inside the ring, he will formulate a great plan if he were to go up against Calzaghe and let's not forget that Calzaghe hits about half as hard as Tarver and probably not as hard as Glen Johnson either. I think Roy has a much better chance at beating Joe than Hopkins does, that's for sure. I'd much rather see RJJ-Calzaghe anyday....the Hopkins/JC fight will be an ugly clinchfest.

I hope a RJ and Calzaghe fight happens. You guys seriously think RJ is back? Did u see the Trinidad fight? The only reason RJ won is because Tito was not throwing enough, everytime Tito threw RJ went on defense mode and just blocked just as he usually does (recently anyways). Calzaghe will KO RJ if the fight happens and ill bet all my points on that

I disagree and think Tito threw everything he had at RJ but just didn't have the pop to hurt Roy at all. On top of that, I think this is the best shape Tito had come in for years, probably since the Mayorga fight and his output was surprisingly good for such a long lay-off from the ring. Also, what surprised me most was the amount of punishment Tito was able to absorb from Roy. I mean, he took a beating...vicious body shots, blazing straight right hands, double left hooks, he took them all and went the distance. Props to Tito for doing that and I think based on this fight that he has at least a few more good fights left in him, but in a lower weight class. If he can't make 154 or even 160, he should hang them up.

I agree with Mighty Mike on tito retiring. He should go out with a wn though. Or at least try to make the biggest payday win or lose (DLH)

It's funny when I read this posts. People seem to think if someone lands a jab on Roy he'll fly out of the ring. Yeah he had two bad KO loses. But his last three fights he has taken clean shots well. And has not been visibly hurt. I doubt Calzaghe could knock Jones out.
