The hate of Forrest is real. But for Forrest to be bitter this many years later isnt good for him, Mayorga is still in his head. He could beat a lot of fighters but he should stay away for Oscar and Mayorga.
I think what bothers him most is that Ricardo Mayorga is not a good fighter, let alone a great one. He's entertaining as all hell, and anybody who likes boxing likes watching him fight but in terms of boxing skill Forrest is lightyears ahead of Mayorga. And for that reason alone I'm sure he still can't understand why he lost.

But he took Mayorga on in Ricardo's prime, and even now Ricardo is a dangerous opponet for anyone. This hatred for Ricardo is no good for Vernon, publicly it makes him look like a bitter ******* harboring hatred for Mayorga this many years later. Privately I'm sure he thinks about him all the time and how he'd love to, as he said, "break his ****in' neck.".

And I'm sorry but if the fight gets made officially, and Vernon can't put this hate out of his mind he won't be sharp enough to take Mayorga in the fight. He'll be focused solely on hurting him, and he'll get caught by another looping wild hook. And that will end his career for good. As it stands he can still rebuild his image but he needs a Mayorga victory to get past his mental demons.

There's an interesting proposition. I'm not sure if Lacy is high-profile enough for Tito but it's a perfect style matchup. And I think you're right, I think Trinidad takes him easily. Lacy has never been the same since Calzaghe. In my opinion he got rushed along too fast like Fernando Vargas did, I was always skeptical of how "good" he really was.

Calzaghe beat him severly both physically and mentally, and I don't ever see him overcoming that.
