Jones would have a better chance of beating Hopkins right now than Calzaghe based on recent form. It is in fact still very competitive. I don't think Jones-Calzaghe would be all that close at this stage.

I mean that Roy would be more competitive with Hopkins than Roy would be with Calzaghe.

Either go two ways. Jones wins a UD. Or calzaghe a TKO/KO. Jones not throwing pucnhes and just defending on the ropes worries me. Against Calzaghe it would spell disaster.

Jones was much more experienced than Hopkins when they fought the first time.

Jones had been in the olympics and he had beaten top middleweight contenders and former title challengers, Hopkins had fought nobodies.
Hopkins had one good win over the USBA titleholder, his second best win was over Gilbert Baptiste, a tough journeyman.

While Jones was already in his prime in 1994 and beat James Toney, Hopkins wasn't at his best until 1997 when he demolished Glen Johnson and started to make some noise as a long-reigning IBF champion.

Their fight was in 1993 when both were relatively inexperienced, Jones was already a highly ranked prospect though.

Prime RJJ beats a prime B-hop, too fast - yes B-hop is a good counterpuncher, but with Jones's altheticism before his move to HW, he would be counterpunching thin air.

With regards to the will Joe fight Bernard or Roy, I reckon he'll end up fighting both. I know his plan is two more fights ( B-hop then the winner of Kelly and Jermain) but I reckon after sealing those two (if he does) the $ on the table will be too much for him to avoid Roy (as long as he hasn't ****ed his hands on B-hop's head and forearms).

lmao. Jones ready for Calzaghe? HE READY FOR CALZAGHE? LMFAO! That's a ****in laugh man. He was barley ready for Trinidad. And he ready for Calzaghe now? You gotta laugh man, you got to. Motha****a think cuz he beat a tired and old Trinidad, he ready for the world champ? lmao. I'd much rather watch a Tito-Oscar re-match. Now that's something to watch. Jones-Calzaghe. Yo, Calzaghe would take care of him in 6-8 rounds. He ain't ready for Calzaghe.
