You don't seriously think Jones could beat Hopkins now do you? Bernard is the #1 rated light heavyweight, a top 5 p4p guy, and the ring champ at LHW. Roy beat a green Hopkins, what, 15 years ago? Hopkins is better now than he was then and Roy, clearly, is not. A win over Tito at a weight he'd never fought at, over 2 1/2 years since his last fight for no title doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot.

Hopkins is clearly the bigger fight right now, if you can't see that, I can't help you. What a year and a half ago Bernard dominated the guy that beat Roy twice, once by stoppage. 6 months ago he beat the last guy to beat a much younger Tito, and who was a top p4p guy at the time.

Is Bernard better than Roy now? Maybe. He has an ability to spoil fights which allows him to win. Roy doesn't fight like that. Physically, Nard is not much better off than Roy.

Is Bernard better than he was in 1993? No. No way in hell. He may be smarter but his output and age have put him in a state where it doesn't matter.

I'll say this: RJJ/Calzaghe would be more entertaining than BHOP/Calzaghe as a boxing event. Neither fight would offer a whole lot of contact. Calzaghe would easily point both.

It would be interesting to see Roy use the style he used last night on Calzaghe. The Winky Wright style.

Cover up and walk his man down, while countering with quick straight right hands and eventually combinations as the fight goes on.

Jeff Lacy came forward against Calzaghe, but he doesn't block punches as well as Roy or has nearly the speed or counterpunch ability.

The problem with bernard is, he thinks he's smart.

If RJJ goes to London to fight Calzaghe and expects to win a decision, he's ****ing nuts.

The green Bernard, not that long after serving a pretty long prison sentence, with not much amatuer experience, does not beat the version of Winky Wright that Hopkins just beat.
