Anyway Oscar is picking on a small guy with no power, this mother ****er is destroying boxing with his fame, first of all Paulie is one of the best 140 pounders and Floyd is P4P #1, us fans wants to see fights like Hatton/Paulie or Floyd/Cotto etc...We don't need this ******* destroying the sport of boxing cause he's famous and rich.Comment

If they fight at 154 then there is no way Paulie can win, I think Paulie can win it at 147.

This is a sound point. If Oscar is seriously looking at Malignaggi as a tune-up, it represents a measure of disrespect for the integrity of the divisions, picking out a still-developing fighter from two weight-classes down to beat up on (who just happens to be desperate for a big fight right now).
I thought the idea of him fighting Ricky was sickening, too, when that one was still being mooted.Comment

Because the fight will be televised on regular HBO, and not pay-per-view, Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, has already made it clear that none of the proposed names should expect to receive the kind of money that is usually given to De La Hoya's pay-per-view opponents. The fighter willing to accept the least amount of money, will probably end up with the fight.
so that's how it works?Comment
