Is Mayweather Scared of Cotto?

I don't mean he is scared to fight him but is scared to lose against him.

When asked whether he would consider fighting Miguel Cotto, he insisted he had achieved everything one dreams about. He stated, "I'm not going to let boxing retire me, I'll retire from boxing. I accomplished all that I could as a fighter. Now it's time to be a promoter."

Does this mean Mayweather is not 100% confident he can beat cotto. Also he hasn't beat the best welter weight tho.

I think so, I also feel Mayweather thinks he can beat anyone but if he has an off night in his mind he would rather get upset by an accomplished HOF like DLH than by Cotto who he feels ain't big enough for him to lose to!!!!

I don't think he's scared of Cotto or losing to him but Floyd cares more about his bank acount than legacy. He will take the most money for the least risk. I think the reason for it is that he believes he is the greatest boxer of all time which is clearly not something he has proven. He doesn't understand that he needs to beat the Mosley's, Cotto's, even the middleweights like Pavlik to even be within earshot of the conversations. Its not so much nerves just ego

Floyd is the est fighter in the world I really don't think he believes ANYONE out there can beat him. I mean the mother****er was talking about how he could win a MW title if he really wanted to. He is fighting Hoy for 20 ****ing mil, you can't sa you are ducking someone to make 20 mil, that would be ignorant.

Well Floyd is definitely more concerned with money than his legacy as a win over Cotto, a two belt, undefeated, top 10 p4p, world champ would without a doubt do more for his legacy than another win over a sliding 35 year old DLH.
