Well, there isnt much to discuss. He showed flashes of potential but I think its a classic case of hype over ability. Joe Cal and the surgery just closed the lid on dude.

You come up with the best lines. Btw, Lacy sucks all kinds of ass, but I think I'd actually pick him over your boy. Man, there are so many good fighters in so many divisions today. How did you end up being such a Tarver fan (or are you Tarver?)?

this is what I hate about some of y'all on here, not just y'all neither but mainly the whole board, why Jeff Lacy has to be garbage due to a loss to Joe Calzaghe and two unimpressive wins? Mikkel Kessler couldn't do it with MORE experience and wins than Jeff 1 or 2 years later, Joe C is just a menace, Jeff still showed A LOT of heart and potential but he also reeked of inexperience and he is still very much inexperienced, even still he comes back to avenge a no contest against Vitali Tsypko whom is very tough and has a Unanimous Decision against Peter Manfredo Jr where he was clearly not all there, Jeff wasn't himself in that fight and you can tell, that wasn't the same Jeff with the same intensity as the the Jeff who fought Syd Vanderpool, he has A LOT of potential it's just he is at a down point in his career yet still only has 1 loss and people instead of looking at the good he has they bash him, dude is 23-1, 17 KO's yo what you want? he may not have looked so good after Joe but he's still young, that was like Trinidad-Vargas, people comended Vargas's heart and effort they didn't kick him while he was down..

I'm just saying, and this is no random attack it's real talk, give Lacy some time, I heard something about him being injured and it was affecting him for a while, can't say for sure if that contributed to the Manfredo fight but it ain't his fault people hyped him up, he's going threw a transition and he has to show and prove, it's just the media gives you credit only to turn it around and **** on you as much as they hyped you, Lacy is like 30 years old yo that ain't the worst position to be in, just give him some time..

Calzaghe beat Lacy up worse than Mayweather beat Gatti up and worse than De La Hoya beat Mayorga up.

I just made it as a joke, but it also really does seem like the shoulder injury has done him in.

IMO they should have pulled him out vs Calzaghe after the 7th. I think they really thought Lacy would eventually get the KO, until the final bell rang. He took a ton of unnecessary punishment in that fight and I don't think he'll ever recover completely. Mentally or physically.

I've seen nothing from Lacy that gives any indication that he will turn his career around. He should join MMA or something. The man simply cannot box.

I'm not going to call anyone that steps into the pros a "suck" fighter.
But like others have said before me, that shoulder operation, and that ass whooping that Zags gave him, he just isn't the same fighter. Sad to see, actually.
