Apparantly Oscar is going to, and he makes more money for his opponents than Mayweather does.

It'd be nice to see him fight for free for a change.

Has anyone heard any whispers about it?
You will see him fight for free when he goes broke in a few years.

well he's Oscar de la Hoya he can do what ever he wants

walk on water, cross dress, he's still probably the most marketable name in boxing

and at 35 DLH needs a tune up bout more then Mayweather

which is what its really about. cash aside, Oscar is going to be very ring rusty if he has no ring time between now and September

so why not take a fight?

Those are hardly tune ups. Those are the kinds of fighters that score upsets against under prepared champions in their "tune up" fights.

I agree... I was thinking when I was typing that that the tune-up would be harder than the main match.

Whatever, some boxer-puncher who isn't super good I guess.

Ike Quartey is an older fighter who said he wants to come back at the Welterweight division

any news on him? his last fight was a loss to Winky Wright.

Ike's good, but at his age I don't think he can beat an elite fighter at this point in time

I wonder if/when Quartey will return

Floyd doesnt need a tune up fight. He just fought Baldomir for the real WW title, Oscar, & Hatton in 13 month period.
