yea I agree, he outta move down. If he goes down to 130, it will make his wins at 135lbs look fantastic. Even more amazing if he could make 125, geez!

I would what a skinny Juan Diaz would look like, haha...and now I think hes almost done with college, aint he? imagine a Juan Diaz that only concentrated on boxing and nothing else, man...

Those Compubox stats are pretty amazing.

his offense is his defense! he never allows his opponents to get off, since he is so busy, and throwing all the time!

not really, Julio Diaz actually threw more punches than him in their fight, but his hit percentage was way low. thats just plain good defence.

but you probebly are partly right, its probebly kind of tough to land all your punches when youre worried about a 6 punch combination bursting out in the middle of nowhere

If he could lose the baby fat and keep his muscle, I think he'd be tough to beat, plus his power would be that much more pronounced.

Yeah I looked up the stats after remembering one of the announcers say that his career won't last that long because of his aggressive style and because he gets hit so much and someone on here saying that his defence ******. It was in the fight with Cotto's brother that Jose threw around 400 punches in the first 3 rounds, but landed only around 50, so I decided to look it up.

Juan actually really does get hit with a lot of punches...compared to other people. but really the only reason for that is because so many of his opponents are really game fighters that throw a ton of punches, and he gets right in their range and fights them out. even though his opponent only hits him with 22% of the punches, they throw like 100 of em and so they end up landing like 22, as opposed to say Hopkins who has a lower defence rating but only ends up getting hit with about maybe 8 punches...because he makes the tempo of his fights so slow.
still, Juan rarely actually seems to be actually hurt or get caught with really clean, hard shots. so hopefully his career wont be limited or anything.

the only thing I worry about a little is that maybe he would lose some of his stamina if he moved down. I think he would be alright though. 130 or 135, I would be happy either way.

It seems like people only lose stamina when they lose muscle mass. I think he could at least make 130 without losing any muscle at all. When he starts training full time, he might actually gain stamina and lose a few pounds in the process. Some people want him to move up in weight, but he doesn't have the frame or the punching power to move up much. I think at 130, with JMM getting old and Pac wanting to move up for his legacy, Juan could dominate for a long time. Then he could move back to 135 and maybe 140 in about 5 -6 years as he matures.

He's got ALOT of potential. But putting him in the p4p list....yeah thats just not fair to alot of fighters who earn their way up the rankings.

I was really impressed with his fight with Julio. He made a believer out of me.

No it wouldn't it would be nice to see a fighter actually defend his titles and not cherry pick opponents on other divisions.

Why do people go so crazy over being a multi-division champ? Not as impressive as defending your belt in one division for year after year like a Ricardo Lopez.

Depends on the competition you face.

If you face some prospects, #1 rated challengers, some washed up stars, some vets, then it's a big deal.

But if you fight 17 IBF mutts like in Hopkins case...then it's a problem. IMO.

And plus, the multi weight thing is easier today. If it was 20 years ago...Floyd wouldn't of been a 5 weight champ.
