THat too, he basicly admits to not having much skill, he grew up on a farm and somehow someone got him to box. He doesnt lift or anything. He's just one of those tanks, big chin, big hand, he just plows you down.

He had basicly no amature background and turned pro at 27.

I think Gomez got some really good chances at beating Virchis.

        Hopefully this fight happens.

I doubt Gomez is afraid he is probably just pissed off at the WBC because he won the title eliminator but won't get a title shot.
Oliver McCall became the mandatory when he beat Sam in a title eliminator but because of the WBC mess he had to fight Gomez. Gomez beat him and now he has to fight Virchis in another mandatory?

          This is all Maskaev's fault.

Virchis is certainly underrated, the man is a human tank. He can put together punches quite well, he has power and an iron chin. When Virchis decides to unload he is dangerous. Too bad he doesn't throw much punches and he lacks technical boxing skill.

JC Gomez manager Jesse Rodriguez released a statement late Friday that Gomez has officially terminated his contract with Arena Boxing Promotions.

He said Gomez is now free to negotiate with other promoters and sign contracts with them.
